What about making some fruit and grain snack bars, then you can put whatever ingredients you want in them? Banana bread? Popcorn? Lentil curls? I like hummus on a crisp bread as a snack but obviously the hummus has to be chilled.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Rice cakes? The caramel ones are ok, but the savoury are not recommended.

Plain rice cakes arent too bad with a scrape of marmite on them. Depends if you like marmite but beware it is quite high in salt I think.

Whispers. I would have toddled to the skip with some of DH's stuff.
He'd blooming notice! Grrr...  It's all under the bed frame so I've told asked him to go in and pull it all out.  He does seem to be in a bit more of a decluttering frame of mind so it might nudge him to get rid of some.

Aye, I mean today my DS was a bit freaked when I fell as I had to phone him to get him to come & help me up. He's a big boy too!

It's horrible isn't it.  I just mis-stepped on the kerb and went down like a tonne of bricks.  You are amazing for how you manage your falls.

Has anyone got good ideas for healthy snacks please?  I'm eating far too much chocolate again and want to stop.  I'd like something a bit more substantial than fruit and veg, but ideally something that doesn't need to be chilled, lower carb and that can be grabbed on the go.

I'm still guilty of just grabbing stuff when I'm busy, so I want to at least make it a bit healthier whilst I work on breaking that habit!
I’m doing the Joe Wicks plan and one of the snacks is apple with a bit of peanut butter - really delicious

Thank you :) .  I've never tried peanut butter, I'm a bit scared to buy it in case I hate it :D  I'll have to try a way of sampling it.  I don't mind peanuts

How about nuts and seeds @jwil? I know nuts have some fat but it's the good stuff...you're doing brilliantly on the decluttering.  It's an emotional process love Humdinger xx

Thank you :) I've got a bag of mixed seeds here which I always forget to sprinkle on my breakfast.  I should use it up.  I never really consider nuts, so that works, thank you :)

Thank you :)  I might try and find some recipes.  Bananas are the food of the devil though 🤢😆  The rest are good ideas, thank you :)

Thank you :)  I'm trying to get away from sweet stuff if I can, I don't mind the salt and vinegar rice cakes though.  I'm a bit worried that they'd not be great for my blood sugar though.  Marmite is up there with bananas I'm afraid :D  My kids love it, I don't know where they get it from!  Little jwil used to have it at nursery, and he'd ask for 'mama' when he was at home eating toast.  It took me ages to figure out what he wanted :D:D

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, I shall have a good look before I do my shopping this week.

I'm trying to muster up the enthusiasm to do some listing today.  DH says he's on a mission to do some tidying 🤞🤞🤞I've put a few things out to go this morning as well.

I have a few parcels to pack as well.

Have a good day everyone :)

14 listings done, and DH has moved a lot of the stuff out of the small bedroom.  Hurrah!

Toasted pumpkin seeds are yum. Just heat them in a non-stick frying pan until they start to pop, and they're done.
