  • I agree, ring them and ask them to log that school only returns on such a date and so it will be 2-3 weeks after that before they might get a reply. Likelihood is they know this but if you ring you have ticked the box so to speak and kept it ongoing. I think perhaps they have sent you and school a tick list of questions i.e little miss does this often, sometimes, never type idea. This is what is used to decide if an apt with a paediatrician is needed. The Drs at work always advise it be completed on what is the worst/most anxious possible day and then it can be discussed if and when people need to meet up.
Sorry it's causing a worry xx

Thank you. I will get in touch with them.  The forms are more about what support is already in place, and what effects have they had, and why we want an assessment.

I slept better last night thankfully.

The kids have decided they want to go swimming today so that is booked for this morning.  I'll pop in to return a pair of trainers as well while we are out and probably have a look and see if we can get the correct size while we are there.

Cat seems back to normal again, so that's good news.

I need to check and catch up on surveys but will try and do that later.

Little miss got her tablet wet yesterday and now it won't switch on.  Just checked and of course it is out of warranty.  Hopefully another day or two of drying out will get it working again.

    Have a good day everyone!

Swimming was good today, it was very quiet so there was loads of room for us!  I'm going to look and see if I can go on a Friday morning once the kids go back to school.

Being off work definitely makes me more motivated to be active.  I've also realised just how much I was restricting my activities because of my knee and worrying that it would start hurting again.  Our trip to Edinburgh proved to me that I could do it, and not entirely without pain, but it was very manageable.  I'm trying to build it up gradually and make some new habits.

Tying it to my retirement plans seems to be keeping the motivation up as well at the moment, so long may that last.  My high blood pressure readings have also been a bit of a wake up call as well, and I really want to resolve that.  I did some sort of NHS online risk checker a while ago, and weight and diabetes didn't impact my risk levels hugely, but high blood pressure did.  Hopefully tackling the blood pressure will also help with the blood sugars, (and I still haven't booked that blood test yet...)

I did a bit of weeding this afternoon and decluttered some magazines.  DH has dropped off a load of stuff to charity saying he can't be bothered to sell at the car boot at the moment either (hurrah!).  Sadly he's still buying, but he's more considered in his purchases, so not quite the huge quantities that used to arrive.

I returned the trainers, but they didn't have any in the correct size, so I still need to get some for little miss.  I'll look online for some pre-loved ones I think as it's only for PE so they'll only be worn a couple of hours a week.

Tomorrow it looks like I need to wait around for some post for DH, but I was thinking about taking the kids to a local park where they can play while I try out the newly installed outdoor gym equipment.  If it's good, then I might try and get into a routine of using it.  There are two parks I can try, so I can try them both and see what they are like.

I love those outdoor gyms. They are fuss free. Just turn up.
    Glad swimming went well.
