We went through a phase a while ago where if we got post once every three weeks we were doing well - we could see how much stuff was being delayed by things like vouchers for the Lake District sounding store arriving after their expiry date!

It's a real shame, and frustrating when waiting for something specific!

I have to say I am really happy with our RM service here.
I think we are very fortunate here.

Ours was fantastic until our regular postie retired.  I don't think they've ever replaced him as we rarely see the same one twice now.

Your June and July PADs are so high! Well done.
The RM let me down with redirected mail. It is expensive and my mail was going to my old address often  :/
I used to have a lovely post who I gave a bottle of nice wine to at Christmas for his family.

Thank you :)  They were both boosted by £100 windfalls so unlikely to be repeated much to my disappointment!

It's such a shame to see all of our national institutions and public services being run into the ground :(

We've had a quiet day today, I've been cleaning and tidying.  The house always feels grubby, and probably will do until we get the work done, but I've decided I'm going to try and focus on building savings for the time being, in the hope that the pain of getting the work done will feel less if there's a larger cushion behind me.  We need to be sure we have enough to replace the boiler at some point, and the bathroom sink, although cracked, at present isn't leaking so it can wait for a bit longer.

Savings rates are reasonable at the moment, and they keep suggesting interest rates are likely to peak soon, so I should try and take advantage as much as I can as it will benefit me more in the long term.  Then as and when things need to be done, we've got the money there.

I need to go through my accounts and do a spending diary.  I'm spending too much on stuff I don't really need, and it would be useful to see how much I am frittering and therefore could be putting towards savings/mortgage.

I've been sorting through photos the last couple of days, decluttering those which are not good quality or I can't remember where they are, or where I've taken loads of very similar photos.  I've chosen the best to be representative.  Does anyone else find it hard to throw away photos even if they are hideous??  I'm getting better at it :D

We dont seem to have the same postie two day running and today I found 2 letters on the pavement addressed to someone in the next road. Fortunately I found the postman and returned them to him rather than going hunting for the house. It is one of those roads that has different parts to it.

Glad you managed to find the postie.
