RWG seems unsustainably cheap at the moment. Is the double top up offer, which they don't really need to offer, a quick cash grab prior to going bust or upping prices? Certainly a very good value service with good back up and customer service from all accounts. Something will have to give eventually, won't it?
The termination rate for voice calls (eg What O2 charges RWG to connect a call to one of their subscribers)is capped by Ofcom at 0.39p but will be less than that if calls are purchased in bulk by RWG.
The actual cost will be a little more to cover RWG’s costs.

It’s harder to find the actual cost of an SMS but this is believed to be less than 0.1p. (Some estimates are as low as 0.01p)

So on the £5 free tariff probably costs them no more than 25p a month if someone uses it to the maximum.

I'm sure the cost to the network provider is minimal, but is this the cost they are charging RWG? Most of the the other networks are upping the costs to low users - with 1p mobile's minimum monthly usage, Virgin and others scrapping PAYG altogether or big increases to call charges (even giffgaff is now 25p/min) pushing everyone into a bundle of one sort or another - a SIM with no ongoing monthly cost seems impossible to sustain - maybe it will last for a year, but if all low users end up on RWG they will end up with all the customers the other networks are quite happy to get rid of. Don't get me wrong, I want it to last and will benefit whilst I can, but the "free" sim card is surely going
  • Its funny they have now pulled the £5 free bundle, but the £15 free bundle is still availible,i wonder why they have done it,unless they make more money off the £15 free bundle, because users dont use all the allowance every month

I don’t agree that other networks rip people off. One should choose provider based on how you use your phone.

For my use RWG would cost significantly more than my current provider.

Does the double balance take a while to show up? My £15 topup last night is still showing a balance of £15.

It seems that my balance of £15 is correct. I topped up by £15 which was doubled to £30, and it then cost me £15 to get the 'FREE every month' 100/100/750 bundle. Somehow I'd assumed that the mere act of topping up by £15 got me 100/100/750.

When I topped up £15 I rebooted the phone and it showed my balance at £30.  My bundle was still the old free one. I contacted RWG using the online form and they manually updated my bundle to the £15 one very quickly and my balance is still £30. I would contact them as you should have the same.
