That's appalling Jackie - no wonder you're feeling fed up. They obviously didn't communicate very well as to why you were going yesterday and what would be happening, did they? I do hope they're not too long with the results and a decision so you can have the procedure asap. Fingers crossed it will happen soon. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.5

Taff
I have done this using micropore tape to stop it wiggling around too much it does help a bit, without it i'd be climbing the walls
mandy47 my eldest granddaughter put a post on her local website and a lady got in touch to say her 13 year old granddaughter had made one for me the night before bless her, again its been a great help as it frees up my right hand from holding it all the time thank goodness
The nurse came to change the dressing today and brought me some medicated honye which she slathered around the wound as she said its really good and I must admit it has helped quite a bit. She said she is hoping that I may hear within the next week about whats next on the cards as once the consultant has all the xrays etc he will decide what the next move is ,so I have everything crossed once more.
The SMART nurses have been so kind and nothing is too much trouble for them bless them Its just the waiting that gets a bit wearing. Plus being stuck at home and unable to go out in case I pick up something.
My eldest DD is just on her way to see me from work and she will wash my hair for me as I can't even use the shower myself.
but fingers crossed it will soon be all behind me Its my 60th wedding anniversary today as well so feeling a bit low anyway I suppose.
So onwards and upwards,

Oh dear. Jackie. Such a pity that you were all raring to go and now still waiting….
Fingers crossed it won’t be too long.6 -
What a let down, just when you think the light at the end of the tunnel, they extend the tunnel. I hope it won't be too long before they have more information for you and a date to resolve your health issues

When I had my cancer treatment which was radiotherapy on my throat I had a PEG fitted. I used manuka honey on the wound/entry to my tummy. It really helped. When I went in for my gallbladder removal a couple of years later, the surgeon commented that considering the PEG he was really surprised at how clear everything was.
I really do believe it was the honey with the anti inflammatory properties that helped.
Hope its soon sorted and you are on your way to recovery. Unfortunately I have heard of too many people having long waits.8 -
Good afternoon chums ,well not a brilliant day today first I get an email from Virgin saying my bill is increasing by £9.00 a month from May.
Then this afternoon I get a call from my local hospital asking why I am not there for the procedure !!!
When I explained that I was still awaiting the letter from the appointment I had last Wednesday and it still hadn't arrived, and I knew absolutely nothing about this afternoon at all.
The Sister was very apologetic, and said she will chase someone on Monday as I should have been phoned to go in first thing this morning , I was on the urgent priority list
As I have to be nil by mouth because of the anaesthetic I couldn't go this afternoonand by rights I should be fast asleep in theatre at the moment.
So you can imagine how cross and disappointed I am at the moment, I'm just hoping I get a call on Monday as the Sister said it will be rearrnged asap.
So feeling more than a bit cheesed off at the moment You can imagine how my two DDs are feeling .My eldest is hopping mad as it would mean less worry for us all, and a bit nearer to getting this blessed drain removed.
So its back to being patient again fingers crossed I hear something soon

Oh how annoying, Hope they sort it out soon so you can get it done and back on your feet.
That price increase from Virgin is a bit steep. Are you eligible for any of the social tarrifs that are on offer?
If not are there any other companies offering a better deal? Sometimes if you threaten to leave and quote what other providers are offering they might give you a better offer. Fingers crossed you hear back from the hospital soon x

Oh Jackie, I can only imagine how down you must be feeling. You must have the patience of a saint - although you don't really have much choice, do you? I hope they'll get a wriggle on - sooner rather than later - so you can get on with life. Best wishes. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.6
