Lovely to hear from you Jackie, I'm glad you're on good form
When daddy was poorly the doc prescribed him those meal replacement drinks. He thought they were too sweet and sticky, but much more palatable when they were cold. They really did him no end of good. See if you can get a cold one, it might make a differenceI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1 -
Yes, DO get a replacement drink or two.
The other thing I thought about was ice cream. seems to be packed with calories (no, not the vital trace elements) and might be a change from rice pudding or custard!
Or maybe something like a home made egg custard- well any kind of egg because they are little protein jobs.
looking forward to hearing that you are escaping... take lots of care xxxBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

It's wonderful to hear from you Jackie, fingers crossed Friday's procedure goes well and that you'll soon be able to go home - being in familiar surroundings makes all the difference to recovery. So pleased as well that the "nuisance" has been moved elsewhere so you and your fellow "inmates" can have some peace! There's always one, isn't there? DH had those meal replacements drinks a couple of years ago, different flavours, and he said they were quite nice - even the banana one and he's not a banana lover. And yes, they're better chilled. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.1

Youngest DD brought me some cut up watermelon sticks in, and they are lovely. Those little pots are a godsend at the moment as I can't eat any thing unless its really soft and I have lost a bit of weight which although I'm not a skinny mini they don't want me to lose it like this.
I had the Ensure before when I was having chemo in 2007 and I have a choice of banana, chocolate or strawberry so its not too bad ,but I find if I wake during the night I will have some and it sends me back to sleepso it reminds me of when I was a little girl and my Mum would make my brothers and I cocoa for a bedtime drink and it would send us all off to the land of Nod
.
I have everything crossed for tomorrow The Dr I saw this morning said they are having a meeting this afternoon to see the best ongoing treatment for tomorrow and how they can fix me upso fingers and toes crossed at the moment
Cheers everyone

Lovely to hear from you Jackie. Hope the procedure goes well tomorrow and you're soon well enough to go home. Try to eat a little even if you're not hungry as you need to keep your strength up x1

Whenever my grandma was in hospital, she always asked to be put in a supply cupboard during nights
She snored terribly and didn't want to interrupt her roommates' sleep. The supply cupboard was large enough to house a bed and a drip stand, so it wasn't a problem, not even for the nurses and the doctor.

I think there is some kind of law that means every hospital ward has a person with mental health problems shouting the odds at night. Happened to two people I know who were in hospital recently and now you, JackieO!Hope you get out soon.3
