So this morning I’ve discovered that I can scan a cheque into my NatWest app rather than going into branch!

    Me again,

so I’ve got 3 savings challenges on the go and the one I think I’m going to allocate to paying my car insurance in one go as it’s around £300ish, so that’s the one savings plan. The other is for Christmas and the third is for Rainy days or emergency funds

    Evening all,

so had a call from the estate agents, the landlord is selling the house with us in.. so I’m going to do some research and see what’s what!

Sadly becoming more common, I know people who have recently had this too :( hope you’re alright. It’s turning in to a not so good January I feel, seeing a lot of negative things happen to people. I guess just try and meet it with positivity/a plan.

Unfortunately unless you are a ltd co being a landlord is becoming less & less viable.  If you have seen what is allowable taxwise for an individual v a ltd co you would not be too surprised at this happening.  Not great for either of you.  Increased mortgage interest rates which he cannot claim against plus all the things he has to fund.  This gov is just making things worse for everyone, except of course themselves.  Guess who can make money here - yes the big landlords in companies.

Thanks both! I’m also not surprised etc but I’m just hoping we aren’t kicked out within a few months of the new landlord buying the house.

I hope so too.  If nothing else though it will give your aim to buy a bit more impetus.

I couldn’t agree more, OH has asked me to speak with the current landlord to see if we could buy it (within price range of course!)

  • I see places being sold with tenants in-situ more and more now! All you can hope for is that the buyer is a cash buyer and is ‘fair’ with the rent (this can be challenged!!), but be prepared for your rent to increase.

You will need a specialist mortgage broker who deals with bad credit applications should you wish to apply and generally a minimum of 10% deposit due to higher risk.

I’ve always said as one door closes another opens and things happen for a reason - as said above by badmemory, it’ll likely give you the kick you need 😁👊
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing
