For some reason I seem to have ended up with a jam stash, and I never eat jam on bread any more - does anyone have any ideas about what to do with jam (some of which is past its sell-by date)?5

My fault I should have used the quote button (but sometimes that makes things go awry!)
I wasn't talking about your toothpaste! I was talking about the next post with Plumduff55 saying she was going to resist yellow stickers!
Not much difference....
I am filling my cupboards with cheapie items for the shoe box appeal (yes, Christmas 23!) because I reckon all those items will vanish off the shelves and not be replaced. Most own brand basic range has bitten the dust especially things like razors, flannels, shampoo.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Jam through your yoghurt? Ice creams? Cake filling? Milkshakes this summer? It's full of sugar, so it will keep well beyond official sell-by date.

Hi chums just spotted this and realised I am doing something similar. As some of you know I have spent three weeks in hospital and am now at home awaiting being recalled when there is a slot for me.
So I've actually not been into a shop at all this year! ! the few odds and ends of shopping needed when I cam home my DDs or my granddaughter got for me.
So I am working my way through the freezer with odds and ends .Luckily before Christmas I had a fully filled freezer and a good stash or emergency stuff in case of bad weather during Jan/Feb.Little knowing I would spend New Year and the following three weeks still in the hospital.
This morning I brought down one of my boxes of cereal from my spare room stash, and opened it leaving two boxes still up there.I had cleared a couple of bookshelves up there, and have a pretty good amount of tinned stuff, so apart from perhaps maybe a little milk (I do have lots of UHT but I'm the only one who uses it) so when the family come in there want a cuppa with fresh milk.
My appetite is not great at the moment, so I think I have more than enough food to keep me going for a good few weeks yet.
I am also working my way through some of the pile of MTR books (meaning to read) and will make a stash to go to the CS once there is a bagful.
I must get going on a baby blanket for my eldest grandsons new arrival expected 4th July. They live in New York so if she arrives on time it will be with a lot of fireworks going off
I also have two more blankets to knit for my two great granddaughters Erin and Ida and I have all the wool ready and waiting.
Its not until you sit and think about how much stuff you actually do have indoors that you realise how long it may take you to use it up
But I'm watching with interest how you are all doing . At the moment I am confined to my house as I am attached to a drain and so I have a lot of thinking time on my hands .
So I shall spend this weekend figuring out how I can use up as much as I have, and not have so many cupboards and drawers full of 'stuff' Its definitely got to go
As I'm hoping to move house next year its a good opportunity to reacess my needs
Onwards and upwards

Trying to find a certain scrap material to fix the rag doll I made for my niece - could I find it? Could I heck as like.
However, I did find 5 (yep - 5) large carrier bags of different sorts FULL of scrap materials (+ one containing scarves I'd been looking for, and several more containing sewing UFO's) so I think I need to learn how to make patchwork quilts!2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used

Not just quilts - teddy bears, skirts, curtains, pillows, just go wild. Make quilts to hang on wall for insulation too.8

Shampoo bottle, tube of conditioner, cleanser bottle, tube of cleanser, a gwp size moisturizer and a minature lipstick. All gone!
Also tossed two pairs of socks.
It's getting easier to get rid of things.
I've looked out two knitting projects to take on holiday, so that's the wool supply havin a decrease.7 -
Used up and disposed of 2 tubes of hand cream and 1 shower gel.
Thrown out 1 blusher, 1 bronzer, 1 eye liner and 1 eye shadow all past their best. Hardly used make up since lockdown.
1 bottle of red nail varnish, had no idea I even had this, on one side for charity shop along with a couple of books and a jigsaw.
At this rate I won't be buying toiletries until late summer.

Still pulling things from the freezer/cupboards for meals so very little grocery shopping will be needed this week.
On the down side, I seem to have inadvertently increased the yarn stash. No, I haven't bought any more but have dug out two knitted cardigans that are too big and don't get worn. I've unpicked the seams, pulled the pieces out, wound the yarn into skeins, washed the skeins and have rewound the yarn into balls that will get re-used at some stage. In mitigation, I have bundled up some yarns I know I won't use and will take them to the CS along with some patterns.
Undies drawer sorted - out: x 7 pairs of socks (but replaced by x 7 new pairs) and x 3 bras that are long past their best (not even fit for purpose).
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Still plugging away, using up my freezer contents, the odd bit of space appearing and my January spreadsheet looks fine, even including a cash birthday pressie and my passport renewal, aiming for a dry February as I felt ILL yesterday, finished a bottle of southern c off and the last bit of the bottle was too much.Do I need it or just want it.7
