I had sedation for a wisdom tooth and they made you bring someone with you before they would do the procedure to ensure they weren't left with all these people talking total nonsense. The rest of the day I was not with it - not in a bad way, went to bed and watched TV but couldn't have done anything productive.
Watty1 I count remembering to brush my hair a win sometimes . Current plan is to sort my bedroom which has PC and work stuff as the room u use an office is freezing and it's v unrelaxing and I think adds to my current comfort eating. DDs both been doing exams and assignments and are stressed and need me to be calm.and supportive and at work doing 2 jobs since 2 people left in Nov.
Stay warm everyone6 -
Morning all.I am so glad it’s Friday! Loads to do at work as per usual. Took the cat to the vets on Tuesday - that was another £132. The one injection they gave him was only a short term steroid as they didn’t have the long term in stock and he’s going back to have the long term one on Tuesday. It’s for a respiratory problem and it really riles me how vets can get away with charging so much!My weigh in at SW wasn’t good last night - I put on 1lb 😭. On dear! Oh well, I am going to move on from it and not let it get me down!Meditation was really good on Wednesday night and we were all really relaxed. Does anyone here like crystals?Speak to you all later.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.675

Hello all.:)
You are very welcome Sugarbaby.
Abbafan - I spent so much at the vet on my chihuahua, he passed away in 2021, but he had so many health problems in his final years and it was such an expense. I was saying to my husband that we have been lucky with our remaining three pets (we had 8 at one point!) as they have all been relatively healthy. We have only needed to take them to the new vet near here just for their annual vaccinations and check-ups. I hope your cat's health improves.x
My mobile hairdresser has been ill and so hasn't got back to us about doing our hair so I might have to book the other hairdresser we used around here. He was good, but he was the joint owner of the salon so £65 seems a huge amount to pay after paying only £10 for a wet cut at home for years.
I am looking forward to everything being done in my house by the end of January, the roof being fixed and the house being decorated. I have been deep cleaning the house and my nails have taken a battering. Two of them completely broke off so I had to file them all short!
We are trying to get tickets for Madonna at the O2 at the moment. I need to call the kennel in a second as I forgot to book my dog in for the concert we have in February. Off to call the kennel and the hairdresser. I hope everyone has a nice weekend, I'm just going to be cleaning! Lol.5 -
Abbafan. Glad kitty is getting the right treatment, even if it's costing you an arm and a leg. Yes vets don't come cheap, nearly as bad as my dentist this Morning. Luckily she managed to replace my bridge (for now) and did a temp repair to what I thought was a tooth but is actually a crown. £126. Plus the crown needs replacing. And all because I ate a florentine biscuit.......😂🤣. That'll learn me. 😂. An expensive biscuit.Had a good chat about implants. I will still see the other specialist, it does no harm to get a second opinion, although the more I think about it, I am inclined to stick with my current dentist even though she doesnt offer sedation. I know and trust her and she's very gentle so I shouldn't be too nervous.Watty.....don't torture yourself, you have made a good start. Just take it steadily and enjoy the process. Remember The Compound Effect and the power of tiny daily habits. Stick with it, a little every day and In six months you will be transformed,Well I'm feeling very smug. Took one look at the car this Morning and figured it would take as long to de ice it as it would to walk to my appt. So that's what I did, it was a bit slippy underfoot and I was a bit nervous but I took my time, walking back was fine because by then the ice had thawed.Walking is something I definitely need to improve on. I've become very lazy, using my aches and pains as an excuse to not walk when in fact walking more would probably make me feel better. So now that I've proved I can do it I shall walk into the village more often. The walk back was actually very enjoyable, sunshine, blue skies and once I got going I felt quite warm.At the start of the winter I nearly got rid of a couple of coats thinking they were a bit too big since losing weight. They are both lovely warm wool coats and being loose fit I can wear bulky sweaters underneath so perfect for today. And apparently oversized coats are "on trend". Ha ha.Right time to get cracking. My son, DIL and two children are coming on Sunday to stay with me for a week or so whilst they have some work done on their house, (saves hotel or air B&B bills). It's going to be a tight squeeze. Today I need to do a spot of reorganising to free up some space and prepare for the invasion.Going to fling the windows open and get stuck in.Have a great day. Keep fabbing and stay stunning. 😁7

I went into a charity shop yesterday and walked out without even finding one thing I wanted to buy. I was already woken up by the workmen this morning so I went out to a different charity shop. It is not exactly cheap in there as it is more like a boutique but I wanted a new outfit as I might be meeting two friends I haven't seen for a few years next week. It is sunny, but bitterly cold outside. I found a "gold" butterfly necklace, a blue necklace and a perfect condition M&S faux leather black biker jacket that I was very pleased with. I also booked a haircut and blow dry for next week. The owner is on holiday so I booked with a different hairdresser there and so that will only be £45.
We didn't get Madonna tickets as my husband waited ages (he had 100,000 people in front of him at one point) and then the two tickets were over £500 so that is too ridiculously expensive just for one concert.2025 GOALS

Hello Ladies,
Helen, sorry to hear that you had 2 dental emergencies, but it is good that you had the necessary funds to get emergency treatment. It was a good thing you kept the 2 wool coats, as you will be wearing them a lot in the coming weeks.
Wednesday, some music artistes expect fans to pay exorbitant prices for their gigs.
I went to the Ritzy cinema with my son and daughter to watch the film Till yesterday evening. It was an excellent film about a very harrowing subject matter. I was reduced to tears at times. For me this film is a 10/10. I used 2 of my free Picturehouse members tickets and the 3rd ticket I got using my CEA card so I saved over £40. We were the only 3 people at the screening of this film, so we spread out a little and it felt like it was a private screening just for us.
I got my £100 voucher from the Southwark Community Referral Scheme which Blackfriars Settlement had referred me to get. I will cash it in next time I am in the post office and then put the money on my Gas prepayment. card. I am really thankful to receive this voucher.6 -
I'm stir crazy. DH isn't well, 76 disabled and with some horrible bug that leaves him dizzy if he tries to move around so I don't feel I can leave him. GS will hopefully spend a few hours with him tomorrow so I can go out, trip round the shops with a stop for tea and a cake will brighten me up.6

So sorry to hear about your husband's bug, Purple Pixie....dizziness is awful but worse if added to an existing disability. Hope he's feeling better soon and that you get the opportunity to escape for a while tomorrow.
I've barely been out since before Christmas - think I've gone into the local Co-op twice - it's just been either too wet or too icy for me (and nowhere other than countryside is within walking distance). Even the dogs are reluctant to venture further than the garden...fortunately it's a large one - and no more insurgent sheep for a while 😆 As a result I'm getting a bit of cabin fever as well, but I'm determined to stick to my 'no spend' policy this month, so I'm steering clear of temptation - I've not even looked at ebay, lol!
Good thing you kept those warm coats, Helen! It's definitely sensible to have outer garments loose enough to pack a few extra layers underneath 😉 I'm so glad I bought my Palones faux astrakhan/teddybear coat in TK last winter - it's also a bit big, but this means I can wear several woolly jumpers (depending on the severity of the weather!) without compromising on warmth, whereas my McVerdi 'thinsulate' coat is fairly tight so only thin jumpers can be worn with it. The Palones one just exudes snuggliness too, being so soft 😍5 -
I recently read about the background of Till Sugarbaby. The whole thing was so horrifying I don’t think I could watch the film ☹️4

Hello Ladies,
Purple Pixie, I hope you husband feels much improved soon. I hope you get out of your house soon and get to have some time to yourself.
Cbsexec I knew all about the lynching of 14 year old Emmett Till, for daring to whistle at a white woman in Mississippi for at least 2 decades, so I knew what to expect. They handled a very difficult subject matter really well.
I went to the Jermyn Street Theatre this evening to watch the play In The Net. I got a ticket worth £31 (concession price) for only £6.50.The play was quite disappointing, I just did not feel engaged with the characters or what was happening with each of them. For me this play was only a 5.5/10.
