Hello,
Can I join please? I popped in a few years ago, but felt overwhelmed and return to comfort in my trackkies and chaos!
Do need to get back into my clothes (too tight) as I like them and my one smart trousers that fit me, velvety are going bald in places
Fab is about me, how I feel, my house and way of life. Went out with v old friends (one over from Aus) and wore a dress (as a skirt with jumper) bought for a friend's 60th in oct and everyone comments on it, my good coat (black/grey/white check) and a long kept but unworn red wool scarf and felt fab. Will be going into the office more and want to do more theatre/galleries (difficult to do less), and feel I can entertain more.
Jan is difficult with DDs have exams/ key bits of work and focusing on my to do list as it weighs heavily. 60 in early March so Feb will be focus on house and me.
Read through and love the support and inspiration, fab photos of beautifully painted nails and interiors!10 -

Hi all.Am just on my way back from college for a progress report for my daughter - I do dread these things but it went pretty well, so came out happy. Have got a dentist appointment later at 12.30, do not looking forward to that at all.Has anyone here tried meditation? I do find it a great way to relax and unwind. I go to a group on a Wednesday night. It’s at someone’s house but she has a converted shed in the back garden. It’s really very cosy as well.Welcome TC77!xxStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.678

@Watty1 well done on deleting the games (thief of time) again.
It has become a habit and a "comfort blanket" for you too. Great that you treated and looked after yourself.
That is a wonderful thing that you are doing of getting a very special ring re-sized so it can be worn, quite right it should not be shut away
How good does if feel you are able to focus on you and feeling fab (riding boots re very cosmopolitan anyway)
I took the plunge yesterday and took an overdue trip to the barbers shop in the next village. I have short hair and I have saved a small fortune by moving over from the hairdressers. I got charged £2 less than normal so put that into the bathroom savings pot.
Carry on being stunning ladies

The weather has been pretty dire over the past few days (since Christmas I think we've had just two dry days...and then it's rained overnight 🙄), so I'm afraid fabbing on the dressing up front has been rare. I've barely ventured further than the lane outside - although plenty of hours have been wasted chasing sheep from the garden (this morning there were nine!!!), aided and abetted by our two dogs who both have the herding instinct 😆 Putting on nice clothes/makeup in those circumstances is pointless imho 😂
Otoh, I've had lots of opportunities to fab the house - swapping cushions around about a billion times, often bringing in different colours/sizes from elsewhere in the house (DH says every time he comes into the living room there's a new mix/configuration, lol!) as well as continuing to clear my fabric stash by selling unwanted pieces/curtains/trims. There's a way to go, but progress is definitely being made and as always it feels cathartic to let go - some stuff I've held onto for about twenty years 🙄
The sun has made an appearance so I'll be having lunch in the new and stunningly bright living room today 😍5 -
Thank you 28cratters. Abbafan1972 I used to meditate and that is on the list of things to get back to this year. I've found a few apps that are free that i can use to help and do it irregularly but plan to make it a regular thing at some point.
I'm starting getting back to fab by focusing on myself, my health and moving to fab.
For over 5 years I've been sleeping badly and only going to sleep with the aid of painkillers, anti-histamines or large glasses of wine. This started when my relationship really hit the rocks and has continued on and off but i noticed last year I was getting a bit dependant on these and also spent far too long up playing 'that' game on my phone.
In order to feel fab I have deleted the game and now I have given up the pills. I've slept really badly the last 3 nights but I'm sticking with it and my body will learn to sleep again. I keep saying a little mantra to myself that I naturally sleep well. I'm taking my kindle to bed with light blocking glasses (kindle is back lit and I think that messes with my sleep) I read for a bit and then just turn the light off.
This is a big thing for me and I've not actually confessed me dependence on the pills to anyone but I have become very aware of it.
Also went to the dentists for a teeth clean today and that going forwards will be a focus which means I will also give up my nightly hot chocolate. I was taking that to bed as reminder of a childhood comfort treat. Instead I have bought myself a oat and lavender tea and I will take a mug of that to bed with me instead.
So clean teeth, a mug of sleep inducing tea, a good book and a spritz of a sleep spray on the pillow. I'm hoping that will all work for me.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
I have just had the young guy round to clean the windows and gutters. He was the one who pointed out that there was something wrong with our roof. The roof guy then turned up and looked at our roof and showed us pictures of the problems. It is going to cost us almost £7,000 to get it fixed!!!
We have booked him in for the same time as we are getting our house painted so it can all be done at once with our dog at the kennel. 2023 has not been a good year for me so far!
I'm feeling very chilly from having the doors open when they were here so I have put on the heating. I'm going to try and relax and listen to some music and have a lunch of baked potatoes to try and calm down. I think a hot water bottle is in order too.2025 GOALS
