Hello all, please may I join for 2023 SF?
I'll aim for £20k, nearly finished saving my half of the house deposit (£50000) and then I'll be working on investments and maxing out various pots.
Jan; £782
Feb; £1936
Total: £2718
I had a good read through the thread and its great to see some old names still hanging around, in particular @Lomcevak @[Deleted User] and on another savings thread, @tara747 who had over £100k saved away for a house a few years back. Im in awe of you all and I'd like to think I'm following your lead.
@Lomcevak those monthly numbers are insane! What line of work are you in to be paid ££££ plus long haul flights weekly? Are you a gangster rapper? A Hollywood celeb? A pirate?Whatever you do, good job!

@nat21luv I'm a senior director of engineering at a US tech 'unicorn' so I get paid very well. Long-haul every week sucks though, stops being fun very quicklyAlthough I have saved a lot (and love these challenges, as they've been very genuinely life-changing for me), in all honesty most people on the challenges over the last few years do better than me. If you take the MMM view I should save quite a bit more than I do, getting rid of the mortgage was a big target but i've struggled to really focus since then. FIRE is a goal, but it's not clicked for me in the way that being a MFW did.

#17 reporting in for January and February (forms submitted). Managed to save £1,328 for January and £1,747 for February. Nothing put aside for repairs & replacements pot so far as I have a healthy amount in there, due to not spending as much on those activities last year as intended.

Number 38 here. I am a little torn on how to track my progress for 2023. I received a 5 figure inheritance and used some of it with one off purchases. I have updated my savings for what I think it is without my inheritance to try and keep the tracking accurate. At least it will be easier to track moving forward now.

I'm changing track with savings.
I have decided to stop the ISA contribution and overpay the mortgage till i exhaust the penalty free over payment. Any additional money left over will go into ISA. I'm hoping this strategy will work out well.“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu

#7 declaring £4,907.51 for February.
Bonus was paid this month which was the main contributing factor, also recently got engaged with my girlfriend so now have a wedding to plan and budget for. Finally, also landed a new job which means (hopefully) more interesting work, decent pay rise and more opportunities in general!
Deployed some new money to my S&S ISA early in March, but need to keep a relatively high cash balance to account for future expenses mentioned above (plus renovations on the horizon).
Happy saving all!
