Hi @Brambling, happy new years eve to you and thank you so much for running this thread! 😁
I'm in again for 2023 and am determined to make this year really count!
Looking back at 2022 I know that I just wasn't in the right head space to make a difference- up until the past couple of years I've never been overweight and think I was so resentful that I had gained weight I tried to pretend that it would just miraculously sort itself and spent 2022 waiting for that to happen!!🤦♀️
Anyway, now that I've accepted that I have to make an effort if I want to change my weight I'm going to commit to this properly- this is such a supportive and helpful thread I know that it will help me through my mental wobbles!

Please can you put me down for my usual 10 lb please Brambling, and many thanks for doing a new challenge.
After 25 days away I had a 2lb gain, gin and ice creams have been enjoyed, so am declaring this a success, TBF it's easy to forget about eating habits and I was dreading getting weighed.
Hope everyone has a lovely evening.MFW - 01 10 21. £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £399795 -

Welcome back returners and lovely to see new faces 🙂
Jenny I'm impressed that after 25 days away you only gained 2lb 👏
I think it's best if we draw a vail over the last quarter 🫣 it wasn't just a fallen off of the wagon for most some of us but the wheels fell off if it and it needed a service and MOT.Good luck everyoneLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -

I didn't have a loss target last quarter - simply wanting to maintain at the level I had reached in Q3.
However, I've today returned from a 10-day holiday with food aplenty available and no access to scales (neither kitchen nor bathroom) and so expect a significant amount was gained. I'll weigh-in tomorrow and decide on amount to aspire to.
Got on the bathroom scales this morning and, amazingly, after ten days of what I thought was indulgence (chocolate and Christmas specific food), I weighed exactly the same as I did on the morning I left for my holiday.
Perhaps the lesson there is that, after training oneself to eat as sensibly as one can, it becomes in-built and we automatically self-regulate. One retrains the mind.
However, that was 0.4 kilo more than at the start of Q3 of 2022 and 1.9 kilo more than the lowest figure of 2022 (end of October). Nevertheless, all the time I had been well within the "healthy weight" part of the BMI scale.
So I think a 2 kilo (less than 5 lb) loss is all I should aim for. Brambling, as most people go for Imperial measurements, please put me down for a 4 lb weight loss. Thanks.
All good wishes for success in 2023 for all of us.

I will weigh myself tomorrow but can happily put down my target as 28lbs please, that’s a realistic 2lb loss a week (hopefully).

Gosh, can I come back please, (*hangs head in shame*) I really lost the plot from November, a combination of my 50th, various outing with the kids, sadness and Christmas. I dread to think what I weigh but will braving the scales tomorrow, could I go for 14lb please Brambling, and thanks again for keeping us in line. Hello all, I’d love to join again if I may. 14 st 7 now aiming to lose 7 lbs in Q1 and get to and maintain 13 st 0 by this time next year,
I was here early last year then got into a relationship (now ended, fun while it lasted!) and dropped off the internet for a bit. I want to refocus on what I really want (to be fitted as I get older, frugal batch cooking from stores, meal planning and learning new recipes) over what I want (chocolate orange) right now!
I successfully lost half a stone last year and put it all back on over Xmas. I am daring to hope that it will drop off quickly when the festive indulgence stops, with a helping hand from dry January.
Happy new year to you all
