An absolutely fantastic result in the footie yesterday has meant I'm still in a fabulous mood today :) Last day of the holidays for me today and day 6 of no sugar/junk and I woke up full of life - I have stripped the bed and washed it, cleaned the mattress with the Vax, cleaned ds carpet with the Vax, cleaned the bathroom, emptied the washing basket, hoovered through, cleaned my bedroom, cleaned the lounge, cleaned the kitchen, taken all the rubbish and recycling out and am now chilling for lunch. In a bit I am going to paint the hall area (teeny tiny but needs doing before the paint stuff goes in the garage), then watch more footie this afternoon. The Tesco shopping is coming between 3-4pm, then it's the usual getting ready for work stuff.

End of the month banking has been sorted here - I did spend too much this month on unnecessary stuff but have jiggled a few bits around and managed to make ends meet. I finally now have a rough idea of how much I will be paid each month, it is slightly different each month based on some overtime which changes on a weekly basis, but I do know what my minimum will be each month now so can budget from that and the extra can go straight into savings. The weather is so far typical for a bank holiday weekend, I did get out in the garden this morning with the intention of starting to clear it, but then the rain came again, so I'm back indoors. I have pottered about and done several loads of washing, hoovered through and cleaned the bathroom. I have also been finally coming up with a plan for the garden. I need to: (a) weed the front garden (b) move tonnes of gravel from the back garden into the front garden (c) remove the membrane that was under the gravel, then dig the compacted soil (d) order topsoil and chuck that where the gravel was (e) at the end of the month turf it (f) buy and install Ikea Runnen tiles on the old patio I have signed up, and paid, for a garden waste bun - they are collected fortnightly and as much as I love my Mini the boot is stupidly small and I can hardly get anything in it, so trips to the tip now take forever as I can only take a teeny amount each time. So, that is the plan ... however, this morning I thought I'd make a start, but don't have a wheelbarrow to move the gravel, so improvised by laying the wheelie bin down and shovelling gravel into it. All good until I tried to stand it up and I can't lift it at all :( Then the rain came, so it got left for today. I will ask ds if he will help me, but I may end up having to get someone in to do it.

First day of the month so money has been moved around as appropriate - I got a nice chunk of overtime this month although that is the last month I get overtime for tutoring, that has all been transferred into the savings pot which is looking quite healthy now. I have also transferred £13 from prolific and £10 from quidco into the pot too.

First load of washing has gone on the line but looking at the sky I think I'll be bringing it back in again pretty soon  :(

Todays plans include getting prepped for the month ahead - figuring out birthday gifts etc, doing a few bits for work, shifting my banging headache ...

Thanks Rainbow, a couple of paracetamol sorted it out :) I've tidied up most of the front garden and done a Tesco order for delivery tomorrow. Time to do my work stuff I think :)

Happy bank holiday weekend! Yesterday I watched the coronation with a friend then we went for a champagne afternoon tea at a local posh hotel. I was given a voucher for it by a parent a while back so it cost us nothing and was a really lovely treat. I didn't have the champagne, my friend had both :)

Today I have been for a decent walk, done the food shopping, done a few bits for work and am now ready for the football then the concert tonight.

No idea where the last few weeks have gone but it is finally half-term and more importantly the nice weather has arrived!
I went to stay at my friends on Saturday night, then we went for a pub lunch yesterday. I then came home and had a final footie afternoon before the season finished. I will miss it but it is a short gap this year before the new season starts again.

I managed an impressive 9.5 hours sleep last night, despite having to get up and collect ds from the football ground at 1am.

Today has mainly been a getting straight kinda day. I have blitzed ds bedroom (again), done several loads of washing - the blankets that live in the lounge for the sofa are all blowing nicely on the line currently. I have cleaned everywhere upstairs, changed ds bed, hoovered through, emptied the dishwasher and cleaned the kitchen.  I'm out tonight with some friends from work for a bite to eat, before that I need a shower and some more pottering around.

This week will generally be spent pottering at home, catching up with some friends and trying not to spend too much money :)

End of the month banking is done - I did overspend a bit this month but hey ho, a bit of a shuffle round and it's all sorted.

Today I went for coffee with a couple of friends, then planted some pots, my tomato and cucumber plants that a friend at work gave me (2 of each), and my big plant into an even bigger pot.
I also bought one of those dishmatic things - basically a washing-up brush that you put washing-up liquid in the handle - I thought they were gimmicky and I don't wash up much (dishwasher), BUT saw a thing on instagram where you use them to clean the windows - well, I have done the whole of downstairs today including the front door and the conservatory  :) Basically you wet the end of it, 'wash' the window then squeegy it. All nice and sparkly now :) Tomorrow I will do upstairs but that won't take long.

Morning, today is the first day of half-term that hasn't been sunny. Not a problem though as I've made the most of the weather we have had.

Yesterday I did a long beach walk in the morning, it felt sad as I walk along a local beach and there was a well documented tragedy there the day before. It was business as usual down there except for the odd news reporter here and there.
Other than that I ate very healthily yesterday, drank 2+ litres of water, had my supplements but didn't take the vitamin D as I figured I got plenty naturally down the beach and in the garden.

Today I have done the upstairs windows, one load of washing is in the machine, and I am meeting a friend for coffee later.

11 days into the month and I'm still being super-good with my eating and walking. Today I got up early and got a good walk in (11 miles), the last mile or so was in torrential rain but otherwise was good. I then did some food shopping and have had a super chilled pottering kinda day.
