Thanks Cracking, I do love a list!
We got loads done at Mums yesterday, we're popping back this morning for a couple of hours to finish off but she's very happy. Looking around at home I need to continue the clean-up here, I don't remember the last time I cleaned the windows etc. I also need to do the banking stuff.Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Happy New Year all! This is the first year or a long time I haven't set any goals, it's also the first since I don't remember when that I haven't gone on a diet
So today is another chilling kinda day, I was going to go and do the food shop but instead popped to the local M&S at the petrol garage and picked up a baguette and a prawn salad. So £5 spent today, not planning on going anywhere else - it's hammering down outside so the heating is on, the footie is on and I'm just pottering and organising.Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Happy New Year 🥳 You always make me wish I liked football as you seem to get so much enjoyment out of it. Can’t see it happening any time soon though 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I haven't set any particular financial goals this year, however I do aim to save £1000 a year towards my world cruise when I retire - currently I have £2000 in there. I save £50 a month from my wages which is moved straight into the savings pot, then the two months where I don't pay council tax (£193 x 2) will be added, leaving me £14 to find, this will come from the interest earned on it.
Other than that my next targets are firstly to clear the remaining amount on my holiday - the actual holiday costs £1632, then I have added in another £400 for wi-fi on board, travel insurance and spends. So the total is £2032. Currently I have £936 in the savings pot and I have paid off £389 of it (random amount but it's what was due). So another £707 to find. This shouldn't be a problem, I will use my nectar points and clubcard points on food shopping as there is never anything I want from the clubcard deals these days, then transfer the money that I would have spent into the holiday pot.
Once the holiday is paid off any extras will go into a 2025 savings pot and will probably be used on house stuff - this year the front garden will finally get sorted, I also want to do a few minor bits indoors - some decorating etc.Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Sounds like a great plan. When’s your next cruise and where too? I remember reading you went on one last year on your own, bet that was bliss! Are you back at work on Monday?

Next cruise is the Med again, several different stops this time. Today I did my first beach walk of the year with a friend and her dog. It was freeing but bright and sunny, it was absolutely lovely
Got home and had some toast and a cup of tea followed by a hot bath to warm up. Put my pj's on already as I'm not planning on going anywhere else today. Tonight will be spent pottering, doing little bits and pieces indoors and probably spending too much time scrolling online.Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Morning, am I strange for enjoying January this year? I think normally I set resolutions and they generally involve weight loss and walking, and start all gung-ho whatever the weather and feel quite miserable. However this year I am treating January like an extension of the bit between Christmas and new Year, so my weekends are chilled and little expectation of achieving great things, and so far I prefer January to December! No chaos, not spending much money, just chilling and pottering. I've also allowed myself to have the heating on more this winter and that has helped my mood overall too. Saying that, this morning I have stripped and remade my bed, cleaned m bedroom and the bathroom, the bedding has been washed and a second load is in the machine. I've had breakfast (a bagel and coffee) while sat in the conservatory. The rest of the day involves a trip to the tip, cleaning the car (inside), hoovering through / mopping floors, watching some footie then whatever takes my fancy. A quick update on the weight loss ... I need to lose another 2lbs then I will have lost 3 stone
I'm super happy with that (was originally aiming for 2 stone). I have done my last injection with my 7.5mg pen, next week I start back on a 5mg pen so am coming back down the doses now to maintain. I still haven't got used to being smaller and bizarrely still wear quite a lot of my bigger clothes (jeans etc still seem to fit although much baggier.). I do have some stuff in smaller sizes but general comfies for the weekend when I'm cleaning etc I am fine being in big and baggy
