  • Very exciting cat times await then - but yes, I agree it seems bonkers about the insistence on the steps - not like you'll be leaving the window open 24/7 for the cat to access is it!

So I sent the photos of the ramp / steps in and didn't hear anything, so emailed again and they said they hadn't received them (despite me getting an automated reply from them?). Anyway, I sent them again and yesterday got a response saying they didn't feel they were suitable and sent me a link to a 2-floor outdoor cat house that they asked me to buy instead (£120!), as they felt it was important she has somewhere to go if it's raining and I'm out (surely back in the window??). Then tonight when I got home I had a call from the manager to say she had been on holiday last week, came back and re-read all the emails and apologised for the staff asking me to buy the outdoor shelter, she said she was more than happy with what I'd already got in place and there was no need to buy it! She also said the vet has done her final check and she is all ready to go home. I am collecting her on Saturday (the latest collection time during the week is 3pm). I am super excited! I have been shopping and got her a bed, food and water bowls, a litter box and scoop, and I got the carrier already. I still need to get the litter, food and a collar.

In other news I have done my ned of the month banking and I have £8 left over -  I'm doing a course for work currently and the place has a nice cafe there, so tomorrow I'm having ham, egg and chips for lunch with the £8 :)

I've also joined Octoplus today with Octopus energy, if I understand it correctly I can earn points, which can be converted into ££'s when I use less electricity at certain times in the winter. All a bit random but you know me, anything for saving some pennies :)

Honestly what they are asking is ridiculous. I would be tempted to walk away. Animals need new loving homes and yet lots of organisations put unnecessary obstacles in the way.

Wrote the above before reading all of your post. Apologies. At least the manager seems to have some common sense.

Great news about the kitty. I can just imagine her curled up on the sofa watching footie with you at the weekend.

  • Sounds to me like someone at the charity is getting a nice little kickback from the shelter people, perhaps - good that the manager picked up on it anyway, hopefully it might prevent anyone else spending a large sum of completely unnecessary money!  In her 13 years of life I can never once recall HRH coming home soaking wet after rain. She did stalk in one day positively coated in diesel, mind you...that's a whole other story though!
