Are the ladders for outside so the cat can get back in? At my last house my cat used to jump out of my ground floor bedroom window by standing on the shutter and nudging the window open further but just meowed outside to get back in.

They're so she can get in and out although the distance from the chair to the open window is just under a metre so I think she'd be quite capable of jumping it :) But I need to tick the box or I won't be able to rehome her. Does seem a bit daft though :)

Based on their thinking I would be classed as unsuitable to adopt despite having had cats all my life. Still if it ticks their box hey ho. What’s the betting she won’t use it 😆

It's mad isn't it?! They keep saying that the rescue centres are overwhelmed - I live in a cul-de-sac (not near a main road), have no other pets, no young children - but I don't have ladders :)

That is just total madness could you put it up for photos and then take it back to the store afterwards if undamaged. You are going to have to keep the cat in so wont need it for a while. Happy Cat Adoption Day!

So I have been to see her and she's adorable :) I bought a ramp from their second-hand store while i was there, and a friend has given me her doggy steps from when her dog couldn't get in and out of the car. We have fashioned them on top of the Kallax unit and sent the photos off, fingers crossed they'll pass the test. They said once they have the photos then she just needs her final vet check and I can collect her. They said they are very busy so it may be a week - 10 days. Then she needs to stay in for 3-4 weeks anyway once she's home.

I also went to do some Christmas shopping with a friend today, not the most successful trip - I got ds some Nike Air Max trainers, £36 in the outlet shop, and 5 x Lindt crackers for my team at work.

Early night planned tonight then I'm having my hair done tomorrow.

Morning. £3 from a matched bet this morning. Yesterday I went and got the litter tray, food/water bowls and a bed, still need to get some more bits (litter, food etc).

Another wet and windy weekend here by the sounds of it outside this morning. Back in bed with a coffee and the laptop :)
