Thanks all, she is still quite shy and is spending a lot of time hidden under the radiator behind the sofa, but when she does come out she is very affectionate, very purry and very playful :)

She's gorgeous.  I love a black cat which might be obvious from my user name  😺

She needs to settle in. My youngest cat was the same. She was rescued from a friend of my DD’s who didn’t want her and wasn’t looking after her. She was very nervous at first but soon settled in and now rules the house 😆

She is well on the way to being settled today - I came home to find her curled up on the sofa and she has followed me everywhere. She's much more playful today and constantly purring :)
