A nice lazy lie-in here this morning, I did get up but it's noticeably colder this morning so I made a coffee and came back to bed with the laptop. I have 5 more days at work then a week off, today will be spent organising some bits for the week off - I've already got the mystery shop booked in and a keratin treatment for my hair, other than that I need to book in the service for the boiler, hopefully whoever does that can also fit a new kitchen tap for me if not I need to find someone to do that. Also want to finally get to grips with my freezer over the next couple of weeks as it is absolutely rammed full and I barely seem to use anything from it so I need to make it more useable. Yesterday I did take a joint of beef out to defrost so will be having roast beef today, (I bought veg in yesterdays food shop). This week I want to use up some bits for meals then next week use more and do some batch cooking. It has 3 drawers, I want one to be for veg/fruit, one stocked up with batch cooked meals and the third to be random bits like croutons, chips, stock etc. The only downside is I also want some space to buy bits that I see with yellow stickers on. Hmm, will have to think :)
I also need to walk the dog, clean the bathroom, measure for the new dishwasher and possibly get it ordered, hoover through and return a Shein parcel.

Shein parcel is all packaged up ready to go, veg is all prepped for dinner. Dry washing has been folded ready to be put away, bed made, my room just needs a clean. Dishwasher has been emptied, waiting for ds to wake up before I can hoover.

Dishwasher measured, bought and being delivered next Tuesday :) This has come out of my household budget account, still some left over in there for the boiler service.

Freezer inventory done, ready to start using up, it is all stuff that i do use so not sure why really I haven't been, I need to get into good habits:

    9 x salmon fillets
    Bag of chips
    Strawberries
    Blackberries
    Peas
    Green beans
    4 x 100g bags of cooked chicken
    Bag of white fish fillets
    Leg of lamb
    Croutons
    Fish pie mix
    Sausage meat
    1 x chicken breast
    6 x batched cooked meals (3 curry, 3 bolognese)
    Diced pork shoulder
    2 bags of chicken stock

The meals and salmon are quick easy midweek meals, no excuses!

Write a menu plan for the week ahead and include as much as you can from the freezer.  I do this but monthly from my freezer inventory.  Also means you are making space regularly so you can put more batch cooked meals in and of course YS bargains that you see.

The problem with menu plans is ds shifts change at very short notice, so he often ends up eating at work (free), so if I have prepared a meal for him it gets wasted. I tend to eat a meal at lunchtime at work (free but basic school dinners), so often don't want a proper cooked meal in the evening, hence why stuff hasn't been used up. I then do the food shop at a weekend and end up buying stuff that gets used at the weekend, repeating the cycle. Today is a good day as I planned ahead enough to get the beef out for roast and just needed to get the veg. Ds has gone out but says he will be back in time for dinner ... I will have done enough to plate up two more meals for us tomorrow too.
As I'm off work next week I should be able to use up some stuff then :)

Morning, and finally half-term is here :)
I had a nice lie-in today, have gone through the banking and things are looking pretty good with a week to go until payday. I managed to pick up a second mystery shop for Monday, both will not take very long at all. Plans for today are to potter as the weather is miserable, catch up on housework and watch the football. Plans for the rest of the week include:

    1. 2 x mystery shops Monday
    2. New dishwasher being delivered Tuesday
    3. Nails appointment on Wednesday
    4. Keratin treatment on my hair on Friday
    5. Bleed the radiators ready for when the heating goes on
    6. Tidy the garden before winter sets in
    7. Check for new broadband deal
    8. Try and get the boiler serviced but not much luck to date
    9. Possibly replace carpet in my bedroom
    10. Possibly start Xmas shopping?
    11. Nieces birthday present
    12. Use up freezer stock
