Bonkers busy week at work, then had a couple of friends over on Friday evening which was nice to catch up. Yesterday we went out for a family lunch for Mums birthday which was really lovely. Today ds has gone off to football for the day so I'm having a housework and getting straight kinda day.

Morning, another month means a nice clean budget. I had a very frugal September and managed to have some money left over at the end of it. I have kept some in the account as I have an appointment this week for my eyebrows to be laminated and a lash lift. I still have £150 left which has been moved over to the holiday pot. I also have £31 in interest from my savings pots (thank you to the interest rates finally going up over the last few weeks), this has also been added.
Today is going to be a pottering day, some food shopping, can't believe we're in October already!Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000

Been to M&S for the food shop again - it sounds so extravagant and I'm really not, but it's working out better value for me these days. I got milk, eggs, bread, cake etc and 3 of their meal deals:
2 x pizzas, loaded potato skins, halloumi fries (£12)
Spatchcock chicken, fries, corn on the cob and coleslaw (£12)
Steak pie, green veg medley, sticky toffee pudding (£12)
Total bill came to £46 but I didn't buy loads of cupboard fillers that just sit there like I do in Sainsburys. The quality of the food is much better and it's working for me. Ds and i have had the chicken meal deal for lunch and there is still half of it all left so will have the rest for dinner tomorrow. That works out at £3 each per meal, I'm happy with that.
I have also washed my bedding, dried it on the line, ironed it and need to remake the bed later. Dishwasher has been unloaded and reloaded, all rubbish and recycling has been put out. Plants have been watered, dusting has been done. Budget for the new month is all sorted.
I picked up a Christmas food brochure when I was in M&S and will flick through that with a cup of tea in a bit. We didn't have a Christmas roast dinner last year but will be having one this year.

Dog walked and taken back to Mums, car emptied of all the rubbish that has been accumalating, gas meter reading submitted (smart meter not working yet again). Think I might make my bed now and clean my bedroom then have a nice bubble bath with some candles.Mortgage Total: £51,549 / £75,000
