  • We're starting to struggle to find anything worth having in the clubcard rewards scheme these days too - it's a shame as it used to be so good for various days out/meals out type things. I've not quite resorted to just spending mine in store yet but I suspect it may not be far off - particularly as I now spend less and less in T's anyway.

Brilliant on DS's MSE type ways too - and that he's taken on board where there are things we will need to pay for towards the holiday!

We loved the market in Barcelona - cheerfully lost several hours wandering round there when we visited!

Morning, another £3 matched bet profit. I'm off to meet a friend for a beach walk this morning, then food shopping and football.

Morning, yesterdays walk has shown me how utterly unfit I am again at the moment, my legs have that rather lovely dull ache and i can even feel it at the sides of my tummy. I actually like this feeling as it makes me feel I've done some good. Hopefully it will motivate me to do some more. I was going to do another walk today but the weather forecast says we're expecting a months worth of rain today so may swerve it. I might dig out the hula hoop and the kettlebells instead.

I need to go and do the food shopping, still haven't managed that one yet. Ds has gone to work, he's got a week off after today. I've just checked the banking and I seem to be doing pretty nicely this month so far. I did a prolific survey earlier for £3.80 which only took about 20 minutes, hopefully a few more of them today would be nice too.

So, a bit of pottering and doing housework, some exercise, food shopping and football - that's my day today :)

Food shopping is done and they weren't joking about the rain - I've got all the lights on indoors, it's almost dark outside and feels like I'm inside a washing machine, it is torrential. Anyway, spent £42.00 in Sainsburys, paid with nectar points so will transfer the £42 into the holiday fund. I also spent £18 in Home Bargains on washing powder and household bits. Home now with no intention of setting foot outside again today. I will be doing roast chicken with chipolatas later, might light some candles, and generally will be a moochy Sunday.

It was supposed to rain here but it’s sunny and warm. I think it’s on its way later though. Well done offsetting the groceries spend. Your holiday fund is looking very healthy 🙂

Thanks Sun_Addict, the rain has eased at the moment, still raining but just normal rain now, but it is thoroughly miserable out there so I'm hunkering down and enjoying my day. Chicken is in the oven, football is on, lounge has been dusted, needs hoovering now.

  • We got fairly lucky with the rain yesterday in the end - one heavy but fairly brief shower just after lunch, the same again mid afternoon, and then the rest of it - which was indeed absolutely torrential AND was accompanied by lots of flashing, crashing and rumbling - was all overnight. definitely woke this morning to a far more autumny feel to the air though - the storm really cleared the humidity out.
