A new me in 2023 with Slimming World!

Thank you @joedenise my consultant hasn't really suggested anything other than a couple of SP days, but will start posting my menu again. I had wondered if it could be my hot chocolate on an evening but re-measuring my servings and reducing the frequency that hasn't made any difference as yet.

Morning all,
My only suggestion @annabanana82 is to write absolutely everything down (preferably as you eat it so can't forget anything). I try do this every day but when I'm truly struggling I fill in a food diary and hand it in for consultant to look over and usually get a good result that week. I'm always honest with whatever I give consultant whereas if I'm busy with work etc I try to tot things up in my head or sit and think what I've had over the course of the day and I do miss things.
Another busy week ahead - two days of caring duties for parents which I will have to fit in around work eek!
Today's food:
B - 45g bran flakes (HEB), f/f Greek yoghurt, raspberries, Skinny syrup (0.5 syn)
L - lentil soup (this may change, depends when I leave mum at hospital)
D - chilli with rice (again depends when/if she gets home)
Have a good day all.0 -
Morning all,
I’m in the London office today – have worn a wool cardigan today as the office is always cold on a Monday due to lack of staff and no heating over the weekend!
Sorry you’re struggling @annabanana82. I agree with @joedenise about switching up to more speed foods. Definitely keep a food diary and make sure to weigh and measure your HEAs and HEB. I rarely measure my skimmed milk as only have a splash but that would be the first thing I’d check. Are you having enough fluid – water, no added sugar squash etc.? Whilst the exercise may not help hugely with the weight loss, it will certainly help with your mental health and that is all part of the journey imho. I hope you have a good week x
Yes I’d love to see the scan picture please @bubbs
My food today:
B – overnight oats, cinnamon bun mullerlight, frozen cherries – HEB, 0.5, free
L – leftover peanut butter chicken pasta, 2 satsumas, grapes – 2.5, S, free
D – chilli glazed salmon, rice, green veg – P, free, S
HEA – milk
Syns – hi fi bar plus 3 so 6 total
Have a good day all

@Coxy11 I have never really drank enough, I may have 6 cups of tea a day and that's pretty much it. I shall make myself a glass of squash now!
Hex a I tend to struggle with as not a massive fan of dairy, I probably have around 150ml max of semi skimmed milk a day in tea, will 2/3 times a week have 30g cheddar. I think I make a decision to have yoghurt at breakfast as I know my calcium intake is poor.
Breakfast today was strawberries, blueberries ff greek style yoghurt. 1 tsp candarel to sweeten the yoghurt to my taste.
Lunch I fancy mushroom omelette will use hex a for cheese, and will syn ketchup.
Dinner not sure as its weigh in so possibly soup when I get backMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Morning all. Well done on the loss @bubbs - hope you're mum is feeling better and testing negative soon (took about 10-12 days for me to get negative the second time around)
Sorry to hear you're struggling @annabanana82 - lots of good advice from everyone here already.
I've STS again this week, just can't seem to get through back into the next stone bracket down. I've been bouncing around the same pound and a half for a few weeks now which is frustrating but I know that the increased exercise I've been doing has changed the way I look a little, would just like to see some numbers change on the scale too! Did host bookclub this weekend and had a few snacky bits plus 3/4 a bottle of wine so can't really complain too much 🤣
Been feeling very tired and not "right" recently and realised it's because I haven't been taking my iron tablets regularly enough so probably has a lot to do with that. Had a bit of a lie in this morning so no workout today but will go for a walk after work.
Had porridge with strawberries this morning for breakfast, lunch is going to be some random picky bits and salad left over from book club (couple of falafel balls, some lean ham, few olives, cherry toms etc.) and dinner is LO keema pie from the freezer.

Sounds a lot like me @annabanana82 - I tend to stick to tea but force myself to have squash after lunch - at least 2 glasses before having another tea. I've also switched to green tea with lemon in the office which means no leaky milk pot and much more refreshing. See what works for you and good luck.
Keema pie sounds nice @ruby_eskimo - will check out that for future meal planning

Good to see you posting again @annabanana82. That's already a step in the right direction! 👍🏼
I'd say that if your menu today is typical then you're probably not eating enough food. Have you used a lot of syns this week already as just ketchup isn't much for today? 🤔
I agree that writing everything down really helps. If it was me eating your menu then I'd be having something like salad or pickles with my mushroom omelette and possibly adding some potato to the omelette to make it more substantial. Soup on its own for dinner (or any meal) isn't enough either. Obviously, you can have some bread with it for your HEB but I'd have a small jacket potato or salad as well.
It's so frustrating when you want a new number to appear @ruby_eskimo. Keep plodding!
Yes, it was me that made the potato salad with a hint of mustard @beanielou. I still have a little left in the fridge. Mustard mayonnaise is very popular in France which is where we got into the habit.
It's the wrong time of the year for a cold bed @joedenise, roll on the new heater! It's lovely and bright here but really cold.
I haven't totted up my syns for the week so far but I know I don't really need many more before Thursday. I'm pretty confident I'm well within my 105 but eating out is always a bit of guesswork on syns.
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, fried egg, bacon (P), baked beans (F)
L- pork (P), potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- marinated salmon (P), SW chips (F), carrot chips, roast cauli, green stuff (S)
Syns- salmon 1.5

#maman this isn't a typical day I usually eat a full meal, curry, stir fry, roast etc so plenty of vegetables. For some reason I don't eat salad as a side but I do eat it as a main lunch sometimes.
I don't tend to plan my snacks, I usually have fruit after lunch or a hifi bar if I'm missing carbs. My hex b is almost always hifi bars which I think needs to change.
I had a two egg omelette with mushrooms, onions and cheese and that felt a big lunch for me. I think lunch I find hard and is usually snacky in my 30 minute lunch break.
What did occur to me as I weighed by cheese was that I looked at ounces not grams so now I'm wondering if I have been mistaking 1 ounce for 20g recently??
