@Coxy11 the Cantonese Chicken is also in the new book. I also use lazy chilli. Saves getting chilli juice in my eye or paper cuts. It's great that the TGTG items can be used by your Uni son.WI tonight. Fingers crossed for a loss. My clothes have felt a little looser over tge past week.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Morning all, so sad to hear about such young people @Coxy11 and @bubbs. Both so young.
It's funny how our DH's don't appreciate things like egg, chips and beans for dinner! Mine is happy to eat it as a lunch but not as an evening meal unless we've had a "proper" meal at lunchtime! To him it's not a real dinner, LOL!
DH and I are taking my friend to hospital for an operation this morning. It's supposed to be day surgery so will mean a return journey this afternoon to collect her when she's ready. It's not even the local hospital but one which is about an hour away!
@Coxy11 - the TGTG bag wasn't too bad for a garage Morrisons just not the sort of thing we wouldn't eat; good job you were able to give most of it to your DS2. Was it £3.09 the same as from the big stores? We only ever use the big stores now and don't bother with any of the garage forecourt shops - most of things like Greggs, Costa, Costcutter. The big Costcutter on the island was the first TGTG bag we tried but that was mainly bread, white at that! It certainly filled the freezer and lasted ages with only DH eating it!
Today's plan:
B - toasted cheese sandwich - HEA2; HEB
L - celery soup (from freezer) - S (if we're home in time, if not we'll stop off at Spoons or similar so syns will be involved!)
D - Fakeaway KFC, chips, beans, corn on the cob - P; F; 2.5
HEA 1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - instant mash powder 2.5
Anyone else having trouble finding the cheap instant mash powder? I used to buy the cheap Stockwell one from Tesco's but they've not had it for ages. Have checked the other SMs I go to regularly - Sainsbury, Morrisons, Lidl and even Asda. but not of them had the cheap stuff. I ended up buying one which cost £1 for the same sized bag which was more than double the Stockwell price!
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Well done on the loss @beanielou 👍
Your chicken dish looks amazing @VALM can you share the recipe?
Good haul TGTG bag - for DS @Coxy11 😁 I had a M & S one a few weeks back and although very good value with loads of food not very SW friendly!
Slept well last night after exercise class and feeling quite motivated today. May not last as I'm WFH and there's quite a few niggly issues going on with colleagues.
Today's food:
B - 45g bran flakes (HEB), f/f Greek yoghurt, nectarines, strawberries
L - bacon medallions, fried l/over potato, mushrooms, tomatoes
D - h/made smoked haddock fish cakes with salad
Syns - 1.5 for salad cream
Have a good dal all!

The TGTG bag was £3.29 @joedenise. Still good value as expect the ping meals would be almost that (were marked as £1.94 YS).
Ooh will look for that recipe then @VALM - thanks for the tip!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
Morning all. Agree with others that the chicken looks great @VALM, will have to have a look at the recipe!
Well done on the loss @beanielou
Hope the work issues aren't too consuming @Jellybaby
Tuesdays are now my really busy days and especially today; did a workout, went for my 5km walk, had porridge with banana for breakfast, did a bit of work and now just back from the dentist. Lunch will probably be soup so I can eat and work at the same time and then a late Teams meeting before heading out for dinner (mexican I think), followed by a comedy show in town this evening. I'm tired already just thinking about everything I need to get done by 5:30 😨🤣
Better get cracking, hope everyone has a good day!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Evening all,
Change to my meals planned for today. Breakfast was pineapple, blueberries and a banana instead of the egg, spinach, mushrooms and spinach planned, as ran out of time this morning. My JP for lunch was with tuna and LTL mayo, instead of baked beans. Figured it wouldn't be wise to have eggs for breakfast and dinner, and baked beans for lunch and dinner!
SW chips just cooking and I'll poach an egg and heat some baked beans in the microwave. Have peeled, cut up and frozen 5 portions of SW chips from some rooster potatoes that were a bit sprouty. Have another 1kg bag of white potatoes from the TGTG bag which I'll keep in a dark cupboard until needed. DH not keen on potatoes unless they are roasties!
Have had another approach from SW Area Manager to go to an opportunity event on Sunday or alternatively at the end of Feb. Might go just to see what's it's about given morale is so low at work and the cuts are coming......
Have a good evening all
Coxy
