Happy new year everyone.
I jumped on the scales this morning to find I had gained 4lb since my last weigh in. Eeek!
we were at our friends last night for NYE and had a Chinese takeout and plenty of Prosecco so I rather think it will be a water gain but it is what it is.🤗
Im back on plan today.
Had a late brunch of beans on toast and we are having a picky tea of cheese, crackers, pasta salad (sw style) and the remaining olives/ pickles and salad from the fridge.
So, all HE’s used and 8 syns so far for olives, cracker, pesto and light Mayo.
We are going to watch the new downtown abbey film that is on tv this evening and happy valley so I might have two of the bendicks bitter mints that are left on the coffee table (2syns each) whilst we watch those programmes.
I've got my cross stitch out to keep my hands busy whilst we sit.
So, my target weight is now 18lbs away and I am still aiming to hit that by Easter.

I've been shopping but Lidl AND Aldi both shut so I had to go to Sains!! It's a mahoosive store and I've not been in there for years, so had to go up and down every aisle to shop from my list. DH thought I'd got lost as took so long lol! Happy to say I only spent £76 which included £8 of laundry pods. Couldn't find a whole BNS so had to buy slices. Will be making soup tomorrow. I didn't do the washing today, just hung it on the line but bought it in at 1pm as it started to rain.
I've just had my cheese omelette with salad leaves/toms. I also had a little bit of red pepper that needed using up, so cooked that into the omelette - can't have them raw as they disagree with me.
Looking forward to roast beef later. DS2 has gone to work (until 10pm and is then going to his GFs to stay over), we haven't heard from DD yet. She was in Brighton and had tickets for a club from 1am this morning!! Fair play to her for that! Looks like we'll have lots of meat leftover as the joint says it serves 6.
Christmas cake looks lovely @bubbs - something I've never liked eating unfortunately (or fortunately depending on which way you look at it!)
That chicken noodle soup looks amazing @VALM mmmmmmm
I reckon it was the additives in the CC @maman - I would never normally drink full fat and only usually have one can of Pepsi Max. I've managed to shake the headache now but the sore throat is still lingering.Cross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 09/25 Currently reading The Vows of Silence by Susan Hill0 -
Morning everyone,
Followed, but haven't contributed for sometime. However after an AI holiday, Christmas and drinking more then I'd like my clothes are telling me it's time to regain control. I may not post much, but glad to be back.
Happy New Year

Good to see you posting again @Arkers. This thread is great for keeping on track and healthy eating (and drinking 😉) as the norm. 👍
I'm sure you'll get to your target as planned @Matron_Midge. Enjoy the film, it's perfect Sunday night viewing. 😊
Soup looked very professional @VALM, restaurant standard. 👏
Sounds like a mammoth shop @Coxy11. How long before it's just shopping for 2 again?🤔1 -
I'm not superstitious @bubbs so yes I did washing today. I do my washing as and when I need to particularly when it's a dry day in the middle of a patch of wet days!
@maman - TGTG bags are for surplus stock so can only assume the cancellations mean no surplus food to get rid of. You pay £3.09 per carrier bag but no idea what you're going to get until you pick it up. It supposedly is supposed to be at least £10 worth of food but it's not really because a lot of it has already been reduced and has the yellow stickers with the reduced price on them so probably more like about £6 or so's worth so still worth it. If it's food I can't use within a day or two I'll either cook it or freeze it so it doesn't go to waste - no point in saving food which may go to waste and then wasting it myself!
Good to have you back @Arkers, feel free to post occasionally, no need to post every day like some of us do.

Happy New Year everyone.
Thank you for the welcomes. I've had a peek at the local groups and all seem to clash with my working hours so I think I'll join online to get me into the swing of things. I'll need to get used to the syns and HEs etc as its been about 5 years since I followed the plan properly - no doubt things have changed. Online membership seems to have changed for the better since my last foray into SW and there's a couple of free recipe books included with membership which will be really helpful.
I weighed myself this morning and I'm 3lbs less than I thought I would be so that was a nice surprise. Ideally aiming to lose 2 stones but taking it a pound at a time for now

Good news that you're lighter than expected @cherry_22. 😊 One excellent change with the plan in the past couple of years is that you can have 2 x HEAs (milk and cheese) every day. Do ask for syn values if you want to get started before you sort out membership.
Well done for subscribing @Abbafan1972, post as often as you can. You know it helps. 😊
Thanks for the syn values of the Aldi pasta sauces @bubbs. I buy them regularly for the food bank but now might try one myself.2 -
Meant to say earlier that BOB milk is now 250ml for HEA, I know that some use it. Not sure what it was before but think it was 200ml.2

DEfinatly no washing on New Years Day!
I have given up ordering the TGTG bags Denise as they are always cancelled at the last minute.
