I sincerely hope that SW have changed their tune since I tried to join some years ago.  On being asked if I was on any medication, I replied (properly prescribed) Levothyroxine.  The group leader promptly threw a hissy fit and said that not only was Levo a dangerous drug, but taking it would give me an unfair advantage over the other members.  She then said that I had to sign a form confirming that she had told me that I had to stop taking Levo or I wouldn't be allowed to join.
    I didn't join.
I lost my weight myself, but best wishes to all of you who are still 'on the journey'!

Yes, for an underactive thyroid.  The problem with thyroid test results is that there is no definitive point for normal.  Instead, it's more like:  under...............normal..................over.

Because being 'over' can have serious side effects, such as palpitations or thyroid storm, Drs tend to err on the side of caution and aim to medicate to a 'low/normal' level.  Having a low metabolic rate is something I have to live with - but I count myself fortunate in the grand scheme of things as there are far worse medical conditions out there!

Morning all, supposed to be dry here today so going to do some washing later once the sun comes up (like to use solar as much as possible!).

Sorry to hear of your experience @Silvertabby - that consultant was obviously not sticking to the SW line - I've been to 3 separate groups and never been told that and I was on Levo at the time I joined the first 2 groups.  I used to take Levothyroxine but since having to stop taking it for an operation and finding I was fine I've not taken it (nearly 3 years ago now).  Due to have another blood test for it early next year but hopefully levels will still be OK.  Think I'd have asked her where she had her medical training!

You're very welcome to join the thread if you're following the SW plan even if you don't go to group although you might want to give group a go again, perhaps a different one in case the same consultant is still at the previous one and saying the same to others.

I've ordered a Morrisons TGTG bag for this afternoon, if it doesn't get cancelled at the last minute like the last one I ordered!  Hopefully there will be some fruit and veg in it which will be useful and. not too much bakery stuff which DH will end up having to eat even though he actually wants to lose a bit of weight.  He's been following SW since 2010 for his meals but it's just the other stuff he tucks into that's the problem!!!

    Today's plan:

B - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, toast - HEB; P
    L - jacket potato, beans, salad - S; F
D - toad in the whole, roast potatoes, roasted veg, green veg - S; F; 6.5

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - flour 4.5; LF sausages 2

    Have a good day everyone.
