Well done on your loss @Matron_Midge. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
It'll be interesting to see how you get on with cutting portion sizes/carbs. I'm another who loads my plate but I do sort of measure the portions of carbs especially rice and pasta and chips are regulated by the size of the baking tray. For roasts, I've taken to limiting the potatoes by adding carrot chunks. I had some of the Tom Kerridge pasta for lunch LO from Friday. I followed his recipe and he used 500g of penne for 4 people whereas I'd normally just use 80g each. There was a good portion left even after I'd halved the recipe and loaded our plates.ย
You should easily claw back those extra syns through the week @cherry_22. Hope the tooth pain goes.ย
If you don't repeat the Waitrose artichoke recipe and DD goes back to university, you should be able to cut back on spending @Coxy11 . You've had an expensive few weeks!ย ย ๐ We should have had a cheaper month than usual as for various reasons we've not been eating out. Good for SW too!ย
I had the last portion of lentil soup today, made on Christmas Eve from from the gammon stock and veg wars. I have another small joint in the freezer but not enough carrots so making more will have to wait.ย
Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- LO pasta and sauce (F,P,S), lentil soup (P,S)
D- HB steaks (P,S), SW roast potatoes (F), many vegetables (S)

Evening all
Matron Midge, Mum has spoken to the ward sister, doctor, dietician, catering manager, PALS and stoma nurse, the only results is the stoma nurse she is VERY good, Mum will be ringing her again Monday and she said Dad's stoma hole looks very sore, they never said anything when they changed him, Mum saw it when she was watching them change his bag as they openly said they didn't know how to do it but the ward sister said everyone should be able to do them, if they do why don't they put them on correctly and use the belt?
Well done losers ๐๐
Today i had hamd and cheese spread egg wraps, tomato and pear.

Morning all (just!)
Had a busy and exhausting few days with the parents and now we're just waiting to see what the various diagnostic tests say about my dad.ย Managed to lose half a pound this week so something must be going right in amongst all the extra biscuits I've found myself eating.ย ย
Had a couple of eggs on toast this morning after my workout, lunch is some more random vegetable soup I found in the freezer with some ham and then dinner is a new recipe of BBQ turkey meatballs with roasted veg and rice which apparently is one of these one pot meals in the oven; will report back if it's any good.
Hope everyone is having a good day - off to spend the next 4 hours in back to back meetings ๐จEmergency Fund - ยฃ8572.39 / ยฃ10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - ยฃLISA 24/25 - ยฃ3200 / ยฃ4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Well Mum has been told today the home they were sending Dad to is not suitable ๐ซ Mum said well you were the ones that said that's where he is going! Why won't it be suitable? Because he is not very mobile, Mum said No because you don't get him out of bed!
They then said why don't you want him home? Mum said i DO want him home! but how can i when he can't hardly stand let alone walk ๐ก๐ก
She rang the doctors to get a telephone appointment as she needs something to help her as she is not coping (i told her last week to ring) the receptionist said what do ou want to speak to him for? Mum said none of your business it's personal ๐๐

Morning all,
Sorry I didn't post yesterday as was in the office sat next to my boss. Big screen makes it very difficult to do personal stuff boo! I took LO cheesy tuna pasta bake - I halved the recipe on Sunday for DH and I and there was loads - this was using 200g pasta. I had it cold yesterday and think I preferred it? Dinner was a new recipe of chilli beef stir fry from the new Fast Feasts recipe book available with a 6wk CD.ย
Well done on the loss @ruby_eskimo. Another who'd like to know about the one-pot meatball recipe please.
Who said the home isn't now suitable for DDad @bubbs? Just ridiculous. Your poor DMum, no wonder she needs something to help. I also think it's none of the receptionist's business to ask what's wrong. Cheek of it!
WFH today. I was meant to be going in today (booked before Christmas) as it's the belated Christmas lunch for one of our teams. I'm not in a team, just a standalone post, but they've adopted me. Anyway, DH says breezily last week that he has to go to Birmingham today for an in-person meeting. We still have DS1s pup as he's in Vietnam until Sunday, and DD and DS2 have now gone back to uni. I was fuming as was meant to be having a Vietnamese meal today! He is suitable contrite!
Food today:
B - poached egg, grilled bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms - P, S
L - SW speedy tomato soup (with the pickled onions....), WM roll, satsumas - S, HEB
D - SW kale pesto pasta (from Fast Feasts book), pineapple - 2, free
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar 3 plus 2 so 5 total
Have a good day all

Morning all.ย It must be something about Birmingham @Coxy11 as my DH always forgets to tell me when he's going up there for meetings and needs me to drop him / pick him up at the station.ย Hope you can spend some social time with your "team" soon (I'm in the same boat as a lonely post with no team!)
The meatballs went down really well and will be made again (plus I have leftovers for a couple of lunches this week.ย Took about 40 minutes all in:
BBQ Meatball Tray Bake
500g Turkey Mince
1 egg
1/4 tspn garlic granuals
1/2 tspn paprika
4 tblspn BBQ sauce
1 pepper
1 onion
Small tin of Pineapple chunks
Rice
- Preheat the oven to 200c
- Mix the turkey mince with the egg, paprika, garlic powder, paprika and 2 tblspns of the BBQ sauce and form into 16 meatballs on a tray
- Slice the onion and pepper into strips and place on the tray (I had to use a second one as the meatballs were quite big!)
- Put tray(s) in the oven for 15 minutes
- Cook rice
- After 15 minutes take the meatballs out and brush them with the remaining BBQ sauce.ย Put back in the oven for 10 minutes
- Once cooked, add rice, peppers, onion and meatballs (recommended portion size is 4 per person) to bowl and top with some chunks of pineapple
The original recipe calls for pineapple rings that you coat in BBQ sauce and then add to the pan to cook in the oven but I couldn't get slices and just threw the chunks on at the end and it was still pretty good.
Work yesterday was a bit all over the place and I've now had to take on another project which means lots of 5pm meetings when I usually start early and finish early.ย So this morning I've done my usual workout and then my 5k walk afterwards too because it's going to be a push to get it in after work on a Tuesday now.ย Had porridge for breakfast with a banana, lunch is a few of the leftover meatballs with some vegetable soup and dinner is the last of my chicken in black bean sauce I made a couple of weeks ago with some noodles.
