Morning TT Peeps,
the joys of spring and some sunshine for us. Hopefully this will give us some small change to work with, even if it means it is getting gobbled up in price rises.
There is a saying that if we look after the pennies the pounds will look after themselves. This is very true certainly when paying off debt.
Month end of March I moved over £50 into a better savings account. This is a target I have set myself. So I have started April with £8.26
Has anyone got little pots or piggy banks, secret drawers or little hide aways around the house putting extra bits and finds in there too?
I will pickup finds off the street too.
Where I used to live there was a "corner shop" and there was frequently change on the floor outside. The lady of the shop when I asked her about it she said "Oh the youngsters didn't want the coppers in change so they would throw it away!"
Then we wonder why teenagers/young adults can't/ don't manage money very well if that is the attitude. It definitely something missing in school even if basic knowledge. We are not helping them to be more self sufficient and money savvy.
Have a good month.

Right time to kick myself bsck into gear, I found I was saving a lot more money when doing this challenge.
So anything I save is going straight into my savings.

@BlueJ94 - welcome back on board your TT journey. Having a refocus is good for the pocket and our wellbeing when dealing with money that does not get captured.

Hello 2Scratters and lovely TT people.
I’ve had a good couple of months where 2 new contracts have meant I can start to earn much better than I had been doing. Fingers crossed this can continue, I’m certainly doing my best to make this happen, my thrifty ways have slipped a little as a direct result of this, randomly buying coffees, snacks and meals at my new place of regular work, but I’m being kind to me and trying to plan more.
I’m so used to watching the pennies, seeing a few pounds go out at a time on unplanned spends is a little unusual for me! But I know it’s just life really isn’t it?
I TT-d £44.97 in March from my current account into a savings account and have so far in April TT-d £202.01 between the same 2 accounts.
Thanks for running this thread, it’s a good thing for me to stay ‘on it’ and it’s much appreciated.1 -

@MrsCautiousRL is always to be a challenge for us all.
Having some extra money is a wonderful feeling, even having money is also a wonderful feeling. This is where we are at staying focussed on the small bits that make a massive difference in the grand scale of it all.
The relief of having a bit extra and doing some "normally expected" spends will creep up on us when we sit down and look at the numbers. Please as you have said be kind to yourself. You have noticed early on what was happening and have taken action to plan better. This will let you form a better relationship with more money. It needs to be made to work for you.
@BlueJ94 exactly - it all works and make it work harder 👍

Morning TT Peeps,
Today for me the grand total of 1.06 moved over. Currently at £22.16 for the month but the total balance for some reason is £25.57. I think I had left some bits in as moved an even amount to a better savings account.
I have made use of my debit card as currently we are getting some cash back for doing our normal shopping till the end of April. Hopefully this will continue. Any bit of free money is greatly received
