Chezzer you can do either way it is all about you and what works for you regarding saving for the extra mortgage payments.
You decide on a figure that suits your budget and how often you want to make those payments. e.g you may decide on £30 or £50 payments when you have saved it up and then move it over. Remember you are to be looking at the bigger picture and even a small number being paid will make a difference.
Have you already got an emergency fund going as well or a budget to see what you have left for any extras like you are wanting to work towards. Depending on your monthly repayments and length of time left you could aim to pay a month a year off or a bigger number depending on your financial circumstances.
What ever you decide to do don't leave yourself short. This can be addictive. Good luck.

Morning Tilly Tidy Peeps,
Yesterday I found an update on my BS Nwide app on my phone.
It transpires that I can now move money within my account without even logging on. As I have a TT account that has made it so easy as it will show the balance too so you can check that at the same time. That will help speed things up

Morning all,
Total for this week stands at at a perfectly formed £17.17.
I still haven't made up my mind on the Nwide account. I did approach my local shop about them accepting my change, they would take a bit but not everything, so it looks like I need to make a concerted effort to get it all squirrelled away before closing the account, so, starting this week, it'll start being sorted, counted and shifted. Nwide does have limits on what can be put in each month as change but it's a start.

Hello, I think I'm making sense of it! Thank you xxx
My balance at the end of Sept was £10.61
I've just had a tidy on all accounts and moved £16.11
Then paid a nice balance of £25.00 off on my mortgage
So today I have £1.72 in the tidy savings account

Afternoon all,
Weekly roundup of the tidy pots, £13.43 tidied this week. So that's £10 into the CC repayment fund and £3.43 off the CC bill, it all helps to build the funds and pay the debts off 😀I feel like a Pelican - everywhere I look there's a bill staring at me!LBM: March 2014 Current CC debt: £2048.29/£3666.53 (55.86% repaid) Current Challenges:Tilly Tidy: £2087.67/£2500 (83.50%) 3 to 6 month emergency fund #75: £3653.62/£6000 (60.89%)1 -
@chezzer That is a good start to the mortgage overpayments and starting again. Those extra payments will also reduce your interest to be charged.
@Divingmad don't forget the post office will accept change too - they don't work with Nwide (it is a building society) though but you can put into any other bank account that you have. I am in the process of keeping some cash out of the banking system. You never know when you might need it if the system crashes - as some banks have.

Morning Peeps,
hope are all safe and well and the bad weather has missed you and given time for you to check or move any spare change.
I am currently at 70.74 for the month. Not sure how it got that high this timeeach month varies throughout the year but it is the persistence of keeping at it. Remember to look at the bigger picture if in any doubt about what you have achieved so far and where you were before starting to Tilly Tidy. If you have no savings at this time as you had to use it, remember that is also what it is for and how else would you have managed to "pay off or spend" what it was used for - therefore, it works, it did its job. Feel accomplished.
This isn't a race or competition but you could challenge yourself if you feel the need.

Afternoon all,
My total for the week comes out at £12.12. My total for the month so far stands at £58.36 and it's about now that the tidying drops as I have met the account requirements to get my bonus payment so spending transfers to my other account which gives me cashback.
My goal is to have enough to pay off my outstanding balance on the one of my CC's when the zero interest offer ends in August 2024, but at this rate I might be paying a bigger chunk off my total bill. It's true that even small amounts add up, I've not been doing the Tilly tidy challenge that long and it's already added over £300 to the loan repayment fund. I didn't know how much it would yield doing this so set a target of £900 just to see how well it would go so ok, I might not hit the target, but am happy that I'll have enough to blitz that debt monkey when the time comes 😁
