I really like the effect of the glittey threads, but they were not much fun to stitch with!

So close to the end! Hopefully get it finished this weekend. This is on 14 count Aida and i really think i prefer the coverage of the 16 count. Which will probably be my go to for future projects that don't come in kit form.

thats looking gorgeous dal, keep going! Next spring my next xstitch will be to finish a dragon/castle scene that I started when I was about 18. Its on 14 count I think. Looks mighty small compared to the cats so I will definitely need good light (hence not starting thisyear in the fading autumn light, I will do some materialsewingover the darker days I think)

DAL amazing updates. I love the phases of the moon project, where is that pattern from? I haven’t started the Book of Shadows project with the glittery threads yet but by all accounts they can be tricky. Some people use a wax with good results.
Here’s my latest update on the sampler. Just top, bottom and left-hand side border to do, then 7 fish, 5 ducks and one snail.

Hi all,
Some lovely updates. I have nothing to tell you on Haberdashery Shop as I've been away hiking again with my DSis. We walked from Arkholme in Lancashire to Crewe....in the heatwave.... NGL it was unbearable at times. All for a good cause though - raised some money, and awareness plus met some lovely folk along the way and laughed a lot.
I have a confession - I've booked a ticket for the Alexandra Palace Knit and Stitch show in October. I haven't been since 2021. I went with Mum who is anti-vax and she had to show a negative test result. She was most annoyed! I also remember her being the only person on the bus from the tube station up the hill not to wear a mask
Of course I don't NEED anything, but I will undoubtedly buy something. My last day at work is 23 November. I'm applying for new jobs - 6 applications in so far, 2 before my walk and I haven't heard anything so take it that's a No. We shall see.
Hope you're all doing okay and dare I ask if anyone wants to take part in a Christmas card exchange this year? It's 99 days to go which means I may have a good chance of actually completing one! Let me know.

aHello everyone!
Well as is the way of things there's a London Underground strike on Friday when I'm due to go to Alexandra Palace. Just typical. Means I will need to get a Thameslink train from London Bridge to Kings Cross instead of the tube. I will set off earlier so I still get there at a decent time.
I lucked out in a CS last weekend. The YMCA had been donated a load of haberdashery supplies including new banded wool, books, needles and accessories. I bought 5 x 10" bamboo hoops - need these for the PL cityscape series I want to frame. They were brand new and £3 each. Mum also has one she isn't using, so I will now go to Hobbycraft (hopefully this week) to get the felt sheet backing and can get on and frame those.
I've also found a crochet pattern on Pinterest to make Christmas gonk garland. Might make some for our festive decorations - dangerous to add to the list when I haven't actually had any finishes yet this year!
DH is away this weekend. I was out with friends on Friday, then out again last night at a quiz evening. It's DDs birthday today we have just got back from eating out. She's very hungover after getting in at 5am this morning, so she's now off to bed! I would normally have used this time without DH to craft, but have been entertaining outlaws this afternoon and now too tired!
And finally, I went to an interview with my local NHS hospital in July. Was pipped at the post by an internal candidate who has not worked out and they called last week to see if I'm still available to take up the role. With luck I won't have a gap between jobs, but waiting for an actual offer and for them to take up references may take a while. We shall see.
Hope everyone's doing okay

Coxy, good luck on the job hunting, and YES YES YES to the card exchange. I've made loads of gonks, the gonk garland sounds lovely.
Daisy, congrats on completing the cats xstitch, its so cute.
DAL, the blossom tree is very pretty and complex looking, nearly there
Charly, love the sampler and not much to go now, cant wait for the finish.
I have actually been doing a bit of cross stitching the past couple of weeks, very slow progress though. Also crocheting a bit as we have another sale on in less than 2 weeks!!!!!
Latest update photo of Seascape, almost completed this page, just one more page at the top but its only a few rows wide.

Good luck with the job. And yes please to the Xmas card exchange. I enjoyed stitching last years.
Didn't realise that I didn't out up a picture of the finished Cherry Blossom. I, of course ran out of a colour with 6 stitches left 🙄🤣 had to buy a whole skein. Oh well, no doubt I will use it again at some point.
I have been doing my sisters bd present. Her birthday was yesterday and I haven't finished it yet whoops! Nearly done, but I have just been stupid busy every evening for what seems like forever.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1
