Hi everyone!
Some great work going on in the cafe!
Love the world map @Drawingaline and the new project is just fab. Your cat is beautiful
Congrats on the new home @Charly27 - great new piece you are stitching x
Oh no about the aida @nmm I hope there's enough to work with? x
I got my (new, spruced up) sewing machine out on Sunday night and sewed the felt sheets together and pressed out the seam. Slowly, slowly - can't rush these things. Realised that the first Satsuma Street cityscape I completed was in 2014! Anyway, next step is to cut the felt sheets out using the hoop as a template (with the join down the middle) and then frame the designs in the hoops, draw in the edges/cut off excess, and finally attach the felt with blanket stitch. I have also got matching ribbon to hang them up with.
I have been invited to a spin off meeting attached to the WI I just joined. It's called 'In Stitches' and the ladies make things with their sewing machines. This month's meeting will see them making material Christmas crackers to reuse. I'm not keen - a bit too much faff - but may go along and take some crochet or cross stitch instead. We shall see...
Still no start date set for my new job but leaving here on 24 November, so there's time. Ridiculous that I've jumped through a lot of hoops to onboard onto the new job but don't actually have a contract letter saying what my pay/annual leave is yet!
My Dad is in hospital with pneumonia in his good lung. He's on oxygen and may have to remain so, even when home. Hoping he will be home by the weekend. Not a lot I can do from here unfortunately.
Don't forget to let me know about a Christmas card exchange. So far there's me, @Charly27 @Wraithlady, @Drawingaline and @nmm. Does anyone else want to take part please?
Take care all
Coxy xx

DaL I think the cat is a great personal touch and a good likeness too. What a cutie.
Coxy let us know about the exchange, I’ll start looking for a design. Congratulations on the job. Hope the contract comes through soon so you can feel properly excited and wishing your dad a speedy recovery.Nmm fingers crossed on the Aida, it’s looking so good.I haven’t stitched for a few days as we went to York for three nights with friends. Done a lot more walking and a bit of reading. Finished ‘the bullet that missed’, would highly recommend. Spent more money on eating out than we usually would.Had to replace my every day rucksack when we were there as well. My last one, I bought in TK M*x, when I was there with my mum & sisters in January 2020! So it felt kind of appropriate!‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. I have been reading quite a bit as well Charley. It's my first love, but I find I have to make sure my phone is no where near me or I get easily distracted!
I have another finish! I finished the cross stitch part back in August, but have been putting odd the back stitch. It's a Xmas gift for my mum so needed to get it done so I can frame it next month. I love the bright colours, it was so easy to stitch, and the back stitch wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
I am now going to attempt to finish the one I started back in January which has gone a bit wrong.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

Love the cross stitch for your mum DaL. It’s super colourful and and reminds me of some Art Deco artist but don’t know which one. My mum would love that. DAL, your cat is adorable and a very good likeness, your other finish is nice and bright, well done.
Coxy, good luck with your sewing machine, you never know you might like the fabric crackers, haha. Sorry to hear about your dad, wishing him a speedy recovery.
Latest Seascape update, I think i will have about 1.5" left on the edge, hopefully thats enough to turn it into a cushion, the lady that makes them up for me might be able to add fabric if needed.

Hi all,
DDad is home. When he was here over the Summer he had some issues and we got him to see a private urologist who spotted a tumour in his bladder (mid-August). He had it removed 2 weeks ago and the hospital are saying it's an aggressive cancer, so we are waiting for next steps. The pneumonia is gone but he's on anti-biotics for 10 days and has oxygen cylinders at home in case he needs it.
In sewing news.... I managed to frame 3 of the PL designs yesterday. Unfortunately the aida wasn't wide enough for the 10" hoops (it's catching @nmm!) so I've added ribbon along the top and bottom. It's most noticeable on PL Paris which was particularly short, but never mind. Will send a photo from my phone in a moment. They are not good enough to sell so I'll keep them for me - just need to find a space for them (famous last words).
So I was thinking for the Christmas Exchange we could send on the first Friday of December? I will allocate who is sending to who shortly. Might need some addresses so will double check with you all before I sort it out.
Lovely finish @Drawingaline - I too think it's got a hint of Clarice Cliff - great colourway.
Coxy xx
