Ok, so there needed to be a BIT of faff.

My solicitor would rather the signed doc comes to him through the lenders solicitor, just in case there are any further instructions. But I dropped it off at their office this afternoon!

So it should arrive with my guy at the end of next week, and he’ll call me in to sign the transfer plus my new mortgage contact week beginning 17th.

    Then we can arrange exchange!

Just might scrape in for 15th may??

    Morning @SecondStar  😊

If I have understood correctly, you should be signing your mortgage offer this week? Got my fingers crossed for you 😊🤞

    Morning @kajikita !

    Yes I hope so!

For a bit more confusion, as if I hadn’t had enough, my ex messaged on Saturday saying that his lenders solicitor had RETURNED the title transfer that he had signed to HIM, saying that I needed to sign it as well 🤡

So I’ve got the title transfer in my bag today, and I’ll be calling my solicitor when I get to work to arrange a day for me to sign.

No real deviation from the original plan - my solicitor would really only just be getting the title transfer doc today anyway, if it had been sent to them from his new lenders solicitor. Just annoying when things don’t follow the plan you’re expecting!

4 weeks today till move out day… l

This morning my friend said she was sorry, that it would be different if she ‘had another room’. I decided to tactfully refrain from pointing out that she actually DOES have a 3rd bedroom - it’s an art studio, which she’s currently not using for art as she’s taking a year off of uni.

I really, really hope that I’m able to complete soon. Trying to bite my tongue and balance myself in so many different directions, as the time gets shorter and shorter, is fraying my nerves.

Sorry you have had so much faff with this. My DD moved earlier this year, short chain but FTB had deadline on mortgage offer.  They ended up completing on last possible date before offer expired and only exchanged the previous day. Solicitors and leasehold  management companies were cause of delays in their case though. Fingers crossed it is all done and dusted by mid May. House buying and selling is so stressful.

    Phew!

So I spoke to my solicitor today - I’m going in tomorrow afternoon to sign the title transfer deed, mortgage docs, and I’ll also be exchanging tomorrow too! Talk about 0 to 100!

Will speak to him tomorrow about potential completion date.

Wish I could say I’ve been proactive about decluttering/downsizing & packing, but I just haven’t. With all the hold ups and delays I’ve not been motivated at all - the last thing I wanted was to make the house more comfortable for my ex, whilst he dragged his feet and did nothing!

I imagine it’ll be a scramble, but I’ve had so much love and support form so many different sources in the last 4 months, I know I won’t be doing it alone.

    I have sooo many Feelings.

I am excited and terrified and happy and nervous and proud and a little bit sad and wistful and hopeful and optimistic and concerned.

I had to cancel my weekly therapy appointment as it clashed with the solicitors. I could really have done with the appointment today! I’m scribbling everything down in my notes app instead, to try and move it through my body rather than storing it all up and exploding.

I’ve definitely been indulging in things these past couple of months that I know are unhealthy for me, but they’ve been serving as distractions when all this house stuff has been so out of my control. It’s time to mentally and emotionally detangle myself, and re-centre my priorities.
