    No real updates, unfortunately.

The solicitor my ex said he was using never actually did any work, because he never actually properly instructed them. Yet according to him, it was them ‘messing around’, rather than him being a lazy b.

After a few short, sharp conversations, he’s instructed another firm last week.

I’m hoping we see some swift forward movement now, it’s coming up on 8 weeks since my offer was accepted, and this could’ve been done and dusted by now.

I’m excited for the day that I’m finally free of him.

I wish I had some news to share with you!

He asked for confirmation of my representation on Thursday 16th (was the 3rd time I’d told him…) and there’s been nothing since. He was told it would take about a week - presumably the firm are drawing up the transfer of equity document.

I’ll be asking him to get in touch with them for an update tomorrow, and if there’s nothing forthcoming by Wednesday than I’ll be asking my solicitor to reach out to them and enquire.

Had my seller’s estate agent on the phone last Tuesday asking for updates - there was no reason at all to prevent us from completing in 8-10 weeks, other than my ex being a useless, lazy a-hole. It’ll be 9 weeks since offer accepted on this Tuesday coming.

My tolerance is wearing very thin.

Just be thankful you got rid of him... imagine carrying that burden around for the rest of his natural!

Hope you hear something positive soon.  XX

    Oh how frustrating!

I’d be reaching out via your solicitor this Tuesday - instruct them today. Enough is enough.

    Sending rocket vibes! 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

    Thank you both!

I had so hoped we could both be grown ups about this, and could each take responsibility. Except I forgot that he’s utterly incapable of taking any sort of responsibility.

It feels as though the time for assuming that he will act promptly, with decency, and on a conversational level rather than a legal one has rather gone out the window.

Did you nudge the process on via your solicitor today (I think you said you were aiming for today - this week has been rather a blur ….)?

Yeah, I spoke with my solicitor on the 29th - he replied within 20 minutes, with a detailed, clear, useful response!

The latest update is that my ex’s solicitor has requested the house title deeds from his new lender’s solicitor on the 16th. Once those have arrived, my ex’s solicitor can draw up the equity transfer document, which can then be signed by him & sent to my solicitor for me to sign.

Once that’s done, his new mortgage can be drawn down to pay off the old mortgage, and my equity can be transferred to me, and then I’m finally free of him and can arrange my exchange/completion.

I’m hoping the deeds will arrive before Good Friday, so the equity document can be drawn up the following week, or the week after to accommodate time off over Easter.

I’ve only got 6 weeks left before I have to move out of my friend’s house. It’s wild that I was assuming there was so much time between December and May - and there would’ve been plenty of time, if he’d actually been proactive at all!
