Spent yesterday packing, and will be doing the same today.

Grand plans of a great decluttering/downsizing have gone out the window, and instead I’ve moved onto the packing technique of large boxes marked ‘miscellaneous’. It’ll make for some…interesting unpacking, but I’ve reached the point where I just need Things In Boxes ASAP.

I’ll have the bin liners ready at the other end to toss all the crap I’ve inevitably brought with me.

I’ve made a long, highly detailed itinerary of what I need to do on each day; from yesterday through to the 14th May. Today is packing, and shopping for some essentials that I’ll need as soon as I get the keys - cleaning supplies, and a blow up mattress for the first few nights before my furniture gets moved.

I’ll be booking the 5th - 12th off work, hopefully that should be a long enough stretch to get things in some semblance of order, and to move my pets in and settle them.

It does feel like a MUCH bigger undertaking  this time, as a single person with a full time job to juggle, but I’m reminding myself that this isn’t a race, and it’s certainly not a sprint. I do not have to have the entire house decorated and insta-worthy within 1 week.

It will be messy and chaotic and muddled, for probably much longer than I’d like, but I can take my TIME over it. I can take all the time in the world.

I’m loving that you now have the confidence to start making these lists and plans 😊❤️ and yes, “Miscellaneous” does make for interesting unpacking! 😉 But as you say, you can take your time and every single thing you in this space will be for *you* and *your* home - it is the best feeling! 😊

There are some good moving checklists online or I can dig out the one I created when we moved here if it would help?
