NSD #2((Hugs)) Toni'sfriend, you might not be able to take anyone with you in person, but you can take all of us in spirit.I am feeling quite a bit better today and have done some small bits and pieces.Nothing spent again today, but I will have to do a small shop at some point this week. I also need to buy a birthday present and some cards, and collect a prescription.10

Today I am grateful for headspace, for dc enjoying time out with a friend, for a (hopefully) easy day back at work tomorrow, for dh getting my pen to work, for fairy lights, for Scooby Doo, for lists, for crossing things off lists.

We've taken down the lights and decs today. Most things are packed away but there are still some Xmas mugs and glasses in the DW and Xmas teatowels in the ironing pile, so the putting away will get finished tomorrow after work. 7 decorations went in CS pile (the local CS has a large area they put Xmas things in throughout the year) and another 1 is going to my mum (I sent her a pic to see if she wanted it) Some gel window things have gone in the bin - too sticky.
Whilst clearing away Xmas from the family room I decided to declutter some other stuff - 3 Bundles of were once glittery dried sticks/ twigs/ leaves/ pine cones on sticks from 2 vases went along with a bowl of pot pourro type stuff - all dust catchers!! Also one clay pot from Greece many moons again, 1 clay owl and 1 (expensive, was a gift but not my thing) wax burner thing all went in CS pile. 2 wooden ornaments, 1 large slice of polished amethyst and about a dozen polished tumbling stones went upstairs with DD and DS3 to their rooms....
Quick trip to Tesc0 for eggs (nope), wraps (nope), cereal (yep), fish fingers (yep), milk (yep) achieved and a few YS items purchased.
Games played as a family, lunches ready for those of us going back to school/ work tomorrow and bags also ready. Oh - and my clothes are hanging on the outside of my wardrobe ready 🙃
Thankful for DD and DS3 helping de-Xmas the house, for time spent playing games as a family, toffee penny sweets 😋, having taken time yesterday to prep for work tomorrow (slept brilliantly last night without that playing on my mind), for getting some decluttering done 🙂I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2011 -
Hello turtles, I've been missing for months- too much going on in real life to keep up here as well. However I'd love to join back in if I can.
My main aim this month/year is to get on top of my supermarket spending- there is only DD and I so our food spend can definitely reduce! The downfall is when I "pop-in" for 2 or 3 things and spend £20! Meal planning will be reinstated and shopping lists will be stuck to!
Good start to the year as I've had 2NSD's so far.

Evening Turtles. Back to work today as my sister had had enough of the customer of mine she was looking after while I had a week off. He is extremely annoying but I have been his carer for the last 10 years and find that a threat of strangling or some other slow and painful death usually sorts him out.
Only had to work an hour as my other Monday customer very kindly told me not to come (I don’t threaten to strangle her)
When I got back OH had de-christmassed the house so we went for a long walk along the seafront. It was quite warm in the sun and there were lots of people on the beach and a few beach huts were open.
No spends today apart from a cup of tea and OH paid for that as I cunningly left my bag at home.
Bought my premium bonds for the month, but haven’t done my food bank or cat rescue donations yet.
Worked out what we owe debt wise so I can start snowballing and am ashamed to say it has crept up again over the years (we were debt free 4 years ago) so unless I have a decent win on the premium bonds or win the lottery I had better tighten my belt and get on with it!
Did a bit of decluttering in the loft whilst the decorations were being put back. There was too much in there and it was starting to go mouldy as the new lap vents are working but very slowly. The moisture trap was dry but discovered OH hadn’t taken the film lid off!
Meal planned for the week to get rid of the huge amount of carp left from Christmas. No one seemed to be weirded out by eating a pie with Turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets and sprouts in it. Now if I could only think of a recipe for leftover chocolates……….

Wise words @grandmanerd and @apple_muncher - @Toni'sfriend I hope you have had your tea and shortbread.
I have had a most lovely evening. Late afternoon, Brighton had its best dress on, the sun was clear and bright, it was mild, there was a kite and lots pf people on the beach, just glorious Brighton. Had a spendy time in the cocktail bar with a friend of 15 years and a potential beau. Felt more myself than for a long time. Feeling grateful and blessed.Mortgage 17th of Jan 24 = £174,000

I was outwitted by LeShire Council changing all the parking charges on their car parks yesterday. I went in expecting a £1 parking charge like it was last week, I ended my work shift paying £10 for the pleasure of leaving the car park. However, that was my only spend, and the £2 single journey on the buses came into force until the end of March, so I will be saving £1 each journey, or 60p on a day ticket for the rest of the month26 days until I stop shop work. Not that I am counting (- I am counting )So NSD2. Even though I was horrified at the parking charge - I will not be parking in town anytime soon. Just when I had figured out all the really really cheap spots.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Thanks for the recipe @Toni'sfriend, I'll certainly give it a go. Sending you hugs. It is daunting going for tests yourself, but as Ditty? said, we are with you in spirit & virtually holding your hand. Also hope you feel better soon @grandmanerd.
My classmate now living in Oz, but here for the festive period, messaged this morning to say she has a scratchy throat, did I still want to meet up (with DH having a compromised immune system). She flies home tomorrow, so no other day to meet, so we met, sat at opposite ends of the room & both wore masks. It was lovely to see her 😃
Went to mum's for lunch, then headed to another friend's for a crafternoon. Had fun knitting by the fire & putting the world to rights.
Picked up DS3'S G/F & brought her home with me. She had a flashback of something & was quite distraught, but we managed to help her calm & she was so grateful of my hug. Dropped her home, then caught up on everyone's posts
Grateful for time spent with friends, being able to help DS's G/F, nearly finishing the body of my jumperUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Good morning, got up bright and early to plan, relax and do some yoga, gosh I missed this.
Instead of rushing around last night trying to get more done we all snuggled into our beds early and read (well, screens for the kids) and were all asleep way earlier than the nights before.
Still got this week off as the kids only go back on Mondays. Will balance getting stuff done with quality time with them.
