Hope you feel better soon @lcc86. Thank you @greent for bring so much help to @Toni'sfriend.
Managed another NSD today 😊
Did yoga first thing, remembered to wake all the bits up at their different times, though DS2 missed his bus as it passed when I was trying his shoelaces, so no college today for him. He asked if I could take him, but he needs to go east & I work west of the island. Might've had time if I didn't eat breakfast, but it's a long time til morning break, so I said no! He didn't want to ask DS1.
Work was good, got to do more in the library, but the ancient computer took the majority of the time to update, so could only input books for 20mins. Got lots of barcodes stuck on ready though. DS3 & GF were waiting for a lift home. Stopped at the post office en route to post 3boy sale. Used the last of my free stamps, hope my next stint on the survey starts soon!
Unpicked 2 coat zips, then after tea I got one sewn in. Took GF home, then earned lots of points on my Norwegian practise.
Grateful that I spent time in the library, it was dry at break times, doing well with my NorwegianUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

My January roundupThank you for this month’s challenge @grandmanerdJanuary has been unusually busy: a short break abroad, school events and volunteering at the school, a couple of work events, football games, birthday parties…In past years I’ve got the winter blues in January and February (and although I have had them a little this month I think it’s been much less than usual). Maybe that’s my secret to surviving these months - busyness! Seeing lots of people.Did well on the savings front in January from saving our usual monthly amount, weekly underspending, and receiving a cost of living bonus which partially paid for the short break.I’ve opened a new account for better savings interest (on the advice of Mr Lewis). The account is for our 2024 mortgage OP saving.Grateful for a good January, for birdsong returning in the mornings, and lighter nights coming in.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Morning turtles!
I finished two snail-mail letters to my mum and sister, now just need to find time to get to the post office.
I don’t know what happened between Sunday night and shiny-new-week day morning, but my mojo completely left me yesterday. Complete lack of motivation, headache and sore eyes. Didn’t feel like going to circuits class at lunch so went and sat on a bench in the sun to read instead. Then 7:30pm rolled around and I couldn’t face the aerial class either, so didn’t go to that. Have realised that I can’t/don’t want to continue with two classes in one day. It’s a bit silly. So will have to re-think as both are due payment for Feb.I also think I have expected too much from my booze-free time (ie expecting to feel great all the time) and that just isn’t the reality. Especially when I eat junk all weekend…
anyway, managed to bag another NSD at least, so that’s 6. I’d like to do better in Feb.Looking forward to chatting with bestie tonight to arrange our trip to canaries, for a clean and tidy flat, for bf preparing dinner.Thank you so much @grandmanerd for the thread!! Good morning fellow turtles,
January ends well, had about 22 NSDs, got paid today including a bonus and paid the family debt off. Dry January ended up being semi-dry but I'll continue in February. New month, clean sheet.
However, banks are quite cheeky with their balance transfers. The amount was added to my second card instantly but is still on my first card, so I basically owe double for a few days. Someone said that's because it's BACS and takes a few days, but how is it already on the second card then?
Been to the dentist this morning, yet another dentist (my old one in the same practice is now private for adults and my NHS one changes every year). Need two fillings replaced and a clean, that will be £30. The dentist is now asking for payment in advance as loads of people don't turn up. So I'll go back and pay that tomorrow, as I didn't carry my wallet.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2511 -
thanks to everyone who participated in this month's challenge and to those following along.10

Oh my goodness, would you look at that! blue sky and sunshine🌞!! Today is the first time this year that I have not been cold in the house while pootling about or sitting down.
Went totally bonkers this morning, cleaned all the bedrooms bar one (DS1 is asleep in it), put all the laundry away in each room, then folded up into neat bundles 1x bedsheets+ 1x duvet cover+2 pillow cases (or 4 if it is a double). All neatly put in a chest of drawers outside the bathroom, so the airing cupboard is neat and tidy with only excess sheets and pillow cases with no duvet cover friends. Which means I can rise my dough in there again 🍞 Added bonus of not finding a mouse 🐭 house in there. Phew!
Hoovered everywhere and gave the bathrooms a good scrub and polished the mirrors.
DH repaid £500 he borrowed from me last month, I did not consider it a loan, so that was nice.
Unwrapped all the bath bombs from Christmas and will put them in a bowl in the bathroom. They do nobody any good shoved in a cupboard. It will get used up in this house, added a toffee hammer so they can easily bosh a chunk off - why are bath bombs so big anyway? I want a bath marble 🤣.
Going to have lunch and get on with cleaning the ground floor in the hope that it is easier to catch Sid the mouse 🐁 in a house with fewer places to hide 🪤🪤🪤. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Supper tonight is chilli and brown rice (using up another thing), and I will make a tomato sauce at the same time, for an easy pizza meal tomorrow - strike day so kids everywhere.
Thank you for running January @grandmanerd, see you on the other side!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Wow and just like that January is complete!
Thank you this months challenge @grandmanerd.
NSD for me today. Think I managed 12/15 but did have spare money for a change this month, doubt it will happen again until next year!!
Need to reign the heating/dryer/washing in a bit as all went to pot late December and not really got back into it!

Evening turtles
Had a terrible sleep, once again relegated to the sofa due to being unwell, changed between being hot and freezing cold, and my throat felt like it had daggers inside. Then my back decided it was missing out and wanted in on the action so I had to find my TENS machine! All in all, I've had better nights!
Did some gentle yoga which really helped loosen up my back. Logged on for work and got some bits done, had a couple of meetings to attend as well. Kept the camera off under the circumstances.
New mattress arrived today, the thing weighs a ton! And now that it's here it's too wide... I have no idea how or why. But might have to send it back which is a nightmare as it came rolled up and I have no idea how it's ever going to fit in that box again... Will see if we can get on with it as it is.
I actually fell asleep in front of my laptop at about 4pm so once I woke up I decided that was me done for the day lol.
Also got my expenses payment through, paid off the credit card expenses, then sent the rest to savings.
All in all not a bad January. Glad Feb is shorter though!

Hello TurtlesI am finishing the month on 18 NSDs (must be a record for me), and have succeeded in doing Dry January. I don't drink very much, but it is easy to pour a glass at dinner time just out of habit rather than because I really want one. I think in February I will designate certain days of the week as no drinking days, though will not necessarily drink on the other days, if that makes senseI did 3 loads of washing today, and got 2 loads mostly dry outside on the lineNew front door was fitted today and I rang the company and paid for it, so definitely not a NSD!Grateful for two nice days in a row, which feels great after the awful, freezing weather we seem to have had for ages, for my spring bulbs starting to appear, and my lovely new non-draughty and smart front doorThanks to @grandmanerd for the January challenge, and I will 'see' you all in February9
