Gas safety certificate delivered (to my solicitor's), letter posted (3 of us in the PO trying to explain to the man behind the counter where and what the Isle of Man was (well it's part of us but has some of it's own laws too - that was after steering him back from Ireland and then Iceland), then tottered to the library to return/ renew books (normally do it online but I have a new card and couldn't face the computer telling me my information didn't match what it had saved) and speak to Council Tax woman. Still need a letter from my brother saying it's okay to pay the rebate into my account (and pay what's owing for this year) but best to wait until I get the completion confirmation letter from the solicitor.
So home, have ordered a giant package of bakes which DS3 will bring up (£2 each or 6 for £8.50) and brought more cans and bottles upstairs with me (getting through that fast because some days I only feel like drinking not eating), have discarded outer layer and boots and am back under the covers. I have fruit loaf, I have a sprinkle of grapes, a nearby toilet, books and laptop - luxury.
Well done on resisting temptation thrifty.
Toni'sfriend it's always better to have results and know what is going on (and that your more lurid imaginings were unfounded). When you know what it is, you can make a plan - treatment, changes in behaviour or acceptance.

Is this the infamous gas safety cert they demanded previously and you had to have Mr GasMan come in and do?I would suggest the idiot's solicitor is stalling to keep the money in their bank account over the weekend, and the idiot son of the seller is trying to make sure it gets done asap now, as he realises he is wasting nobody's time but his own. Tw*ts. His solicitor probably hates him anyway.Solicitors always muck about over weekends - well done, you will get there today, I have faith in you!My energy bill for last month was £435.11, and we were cold unless we were in bed!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

You never said a a truer word, Grandmanerd and I've had some very lurid imaginings in the wee, small hours recently I can tell you.
I've had a quiet day today. I need to get back into a proper routine and stop being silly!
Not a NSD as we needed coffee pods and some other things that I buy in bulk and get delivered to make life easier. I've let things go a bit I'm afraid.
I'm horrified at how much some people are paying monthly for gas and electricity. We're really lucky that ours is nothing like that. I've noticed that everything is going up, though. The rent for next year has increased and I'm just waiting to see how much the council tax will rise. There isn't anything we can do about either of those though.
So, Himself is having a lie down and I'm going to take the opportunity to have a cuppa and watch an old film.

Made it to Friday and today has been good.
Work have confirmed a 6% payrise from 1st January instead of April and I’ve increased my hours by 4 a week not a massive change for me but a great help in my monthly pay. Now to decide what to do with extra. Very tempted to throw it at the debt but will probably do 50/50 to make daily life a bit easier.
Had a quick review of my 2023 themed goals. Doing ok. Lost 1/4 of a lb this week I really didn’t deserved it with all the Christmas treats ‘decluttering’. Save £5 23 times pot already has £50 in it, done a bit of decluttering or tidying of drawers, donated items to foodbank and have a full charity bag to drop off. I’ve only spent £9 of my £23 a week personal spends this week so I’ve put the rest of it aside towards a birthday present later in the month.Need to do better with daily steps, healthy eating, alcohol free days, acts of kindness, sell items on eBay or giving away. I think this is easier now there are no temptations in the house. Thinking of acts of kindness I can do each day, and will get a few things on eBay this week.
Today was an NSD so that’s 5/23. Healthy day and alcohol free.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2609 -
thriftylass, Isaac Newton day is also sproutmas day. We're not allowed to refer to it as the word beginning with C and ending with S, cos every time we say that word, an elf gets shot. And we don't want that!grandmanerd, rest up, lovely.Today I am grateful for dc having a good birthday, for a dry day, for dh prepping tea so I only have to put it in the oven, for it being the weekend, for getting some display stuff laminated and pinned up at work.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9
