Today I am thankful for an easy dinner (hm burgers in hm rolls) (didn't fancy another roast after all the Xmas ones and leftovers! 😂), getting washing done and dried (very thankful for heated airers), getting loads of ironing done, getting things returned.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £209

Still on NSD 3/15 as bought DH some football socks when in a certain sports shop. I’ve also put some cash aside for an expected party present that ds may be invited to.
Hardly any ironing this morning which was nice! We then went shopping so I could spend my Christmas gift money but I was the only one not to buy anything! Typical.
Played a round of darts when we got home which was fun. My toothache eased off but I still don’t feel right. Thinking painkillers I’ve been taking might be to blame.
DS is back to school tomorrow so I kind of feel tomorrow is our back to normal and fresh start day. He’ll be a nightmare to wake up in the morning as he does love his lie ins!
Few appointments this week coming up as well as footy training etc.
One of my 23 themed goals is to do something different from the norm on the 23rd of each month. This month it falls in a Monday so starting to think of something we’d enjoy but won’t cost too much.
Feel ready for the week ahead. Have a good week everyone and I hope Tuesday goes to plan @grandmanerdLightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£260. PAD member.9 -

I've had a great day 😊 after discovering the insurance claim had been paid into our account, I went for a 5 mile walk with DH. It was very windy, nearly blew us off our feet! Before heading into the house when we returned home, I went into the shed to fetch the c-mas tree boxes. Put the TV on to declutter some programmes off the box (if you have iPlayer the 2 part series Mayflies is well worth a watch, but have a tissue or 3 ready!) & spent a happy couple of hours sorting through & packing things away. Remembered we were given a set of festive cake storage tins a couple of years ago, that have never been used, so I lined them with bubble wrap & placed all the breakable bits in them. Took the storage crates, etc back out to the shed, had a good hoover round, then sorted through the cards, cutting out tags, recycling & saving the special ones. Started unpicking a coat zip, then had a soak in the bath.
Grateful for a tidy room with more space, using up bits & bobs (things out the fridge, body cream, etc), colleagues that care, insurance claim being paid
Good luck for Tuesday @grandmanerd, hope it all goes through okUse it up, wear it out

Good morning, back to normality today. School and work. My cold is not shifting either so first day in work should be fun. But looking forward to leaving the house.
Defrosted lentil soup for meat free Monday.
Will see if I can book flights to my parents in April today. Not taking DH to save money. Also that way we can stay with relatives and save money as I might have to go back for a funeral soon too. Not a nice thing to have to plan for but needs to be considered.
Hugs to everyone who still feels poorly too.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/2510 -

Hi AM still struggling with sleeping, just cant handle the quietness of going to sleep! Can only sleep with tv or radio on! Not great. Apart from that January is ticking over, a third through tomorrow!
A treat a day helps! Today was a yoyo -tesco sushi lunch + best advice + cook an nice noodle dish yourselves + it will most probably taste better. Second treat should be yoga and a club run.

Urgh, 6am wake up. Happy Shiny New Week Day 😁😁😁. Just found DS4s bus pass on the kitchen table, wonder how he managed to get to school???? Hopefully a kindly bus driver has noticed he is a Muppet. But how will he get home???
I am not working today so I have 2 volunteer shifts, so will combine those with a trip to Mr Al's and Mr Lid's food emporia for lunchbox tat and breakfast nonsense. Still within budget, and sticking on NSD6 - supper tonight is a cheats biryani - quick and easy.
Loving the starwars spin off series And0r, now something is actually happening - bit of a slow starter.
Tea first ☕ then getting back on with the list of things to do.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Sorry turtles, the fingers did not work, completion will not happen tomorrow. They are now talking about exchanging contracts later this week and completing on the 20th (or about). They would also like a key so they can decorate and have carpets fitted. So long conversation with my brother - it meandered all over the place despite my being barely able to speak. Apparently we were supposed to have a meeting tomorrow as he and my niece are going for their COVID boosters (they were supposed to come out to his home to give him his but it hasn't happened). My niece had wondered why I hadn't replied. Vetoed meeting as this bug is half killing me and brother would not survive - said they can call and pick up his half of the first year's rent if he wants. Got back to the solicitor and said No to letting the buyer have a key (her advice anyway) - brother thinks he couldn't do much but the way the buyer's son has been so far, I wouldn't trust him not to damage a few things and demanding extra concessions. Brother is edging towards taking over mum's tenant (very low risk as he's been there nearly 30 years and is more like part of the family - mum stood as godmother to his daughter).
Internet cut out for most of the morning so they are both tucked up in bed, fast asleep. I'm going slowly - I'd had a shower, eaten and had all my pills before 8 am but drifted asleep later. Making good progress on filling all the sacks (bin bags in 3 rooms and one already tied up to go out). Lunch was as planned (yesterday's leftovers plus baked beans) and I left some (getting very good at stopping when I've had enough) and dried sheets, the paper sack, more drinks and food came back upstairs with me. Next load of laundry (a half load of my clothes) is in the dryer now and more bits moved from the DW. I have a sink load of washed out cans (under target but have used a lot) and cleaning materials going down nicely. I would like to do more in the kitchen before it gets dark but there's also lots to do up here.
It will be a spend day as I had to top up my phone (left it out of the budget as it's usually a 2 - 3 month thing but the calls to the solicitor and my brother reduced my credit to 53 p. Did try doing a small food order yesterday (the bread I had is finished and I was regretting not buying any soft sandwich fillings) and may try that and hotel booking whilst I have a signal (Justin Case) as it's already a spend day. The bottle of fizzy water I couldn't get open in the middle of the night (substituting healthier options) decided to give me an impromptu shower this morning as I was reaching for my dress - took it out of the room before it soaked the bed and bedding as well as me and DS3 put it in the bath and monitored it.
Think I might need the house sale treat today f0xh0les, and soft things to eat (especially if I have to talk to my niece later on). I have frozen fish if I can get myself organised. Meanwhile I will keep plodding (and maybe throw out the ancient crispbread because they're definitely off the menu).
Grateful for my bed, paracetamol (hate them but they are helping bring the temperature down), books (have 7 to go back to the library and am part way through another 3).11 -
Well, The Boy did arrive for dinner complete with big bag of washing. That's given me something to do today. All hanging up in the spare room now and trying to dry due to very heavy rain.
I woke up this morning with sticky, gritty, sore eyes or rather the area around the eyes, Pharmacist recommended Vaseline which strangely enough seems to be working. I'm a bit of a medical disaster at the moment! So whilst, I waited for the gasman Himself did the shopping and, wonder o wonders, he stuck to the list.
Had some more of the soup for lunch and I shall attack the massive amount of salmon for dinner.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -
Today I am grateful for dh's alarm going off as mine was still set to weekend time!, for a good walk, for an enjoyable sesh at the gym, for my slow cooker, for wearing enough clothes to keep warm as the day got colder.
