hmm, having issues with mine. modded it a couple of months ago, but didn't get much chance to use it then, but it seemed ok and went online ok. Now it won't go online (to get weather and date/time updates) and is struggling to play dvd's that play ok on the 360...do you think it's worth installing XBMC again?
    thanks

I've now got 2 XBoxs that refuse to play Project Gotham Racing 2 and Forza Motorsport, but they both play PRG 1 and Driv3r. One is modded and one isn't. I've tried swapping the DVD drives. PGR2 and Forza work in other XBoxs. I'm getting an XBox 360 at Christmas, they're both listed as compatible with the 360, but does anyone know if they're fully compatible?

    Hi guys
could anyone help me please, i have just rang my local game store and came off more confused....

my DS is 3 (4 in feb) and started to play on wii. xbox, ps2 if we visit anyone with older kids.

he is now asking for his own!

    i can:
    a) not afford it
    b) not sure he has ability to play them alone as he can not yet read
    c) worry they are too old / violent
    d) wouldnt be able to show him as i dont know how to myself
    e) could he break it?

the guy in game said a preowned gameboy advance was £15, a new one £20
but the games would now be "retro" and more expensive and would i not prefer a ds?

anychance one of you has an opnion?
my DS can play on cbeebies and nickjnr a little

    thank you

 As the title suggests, my softmod has gone wrong again

It seems to forget about the softmod if its not switched on for a few weeks, I cant boot my AID or Slayer disc and I cant FTP to it

This happened a few months ago and I messed up my softmod and had to hotswap to get it going again  I am really hoping to sort this without resorting to that again, it was a nightmare lol.

So when I switch on the xbox, the light goes red but the screen is just blank, nothing else happens. I can load an original game though.

Does anyone have any idea how I can try and fix it please :D

Haven't had any problems with softmod disappearing when the machine has been switched off for months.

I suspect the red light means a hardware error. :(

    Thanks anyway

I'll just have to try hotswapping it again and remember to switch it on more often if i get it going again!

If I were you I'd get them a Gamecube

1, You can pick them up cheap in Gamestation etc
2, Games are more suitable for younger kids
3, Games are compatible with Wii so if you upgrade in the future or visit friends
4, The gamecube itself and its controllers are quite robust (mine got chucked around a fair bit and still works fine)
5, Games can be picked up reasonable cheap.

The Xbox is good but IMO not really suitable for younger gamers.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
