Although these xbox's from Game are a steal at £20, make sure you test the box thoroughly after you have got one. I bought 2, the first was fine, but the 2nd the DVD drive had gone, replaced that and the controller adapter cables (the little short ones) were missing, and finally I got a good one. I don't think Game test any that they get in and people return duff xbox's.

They do offer a 12 month warranty though don't they.

is there any way to stop the unit from asking for date / time setup every time its disconnected from the mains ? unit is softmodded by the way running XBMC as a dash.

I read about this on another forum - apparently the motherboard uses a capacitor in stead of a battery, so it can only hold its memory for about 4 hours.

It's been theorised that if you located the capacitor, and replace it with a battery, you may be able to ext5end this time - but it seems like a lot of work, and I can't find anyone who claims to have tried it...
