To be honest I should just sell the dvd remote for £10 and give the xbox to my sis, I'm actually just gonna go buy another if I sell so... what am i doing! this is a crazy price! i've gone insaaaneee! you're ripping me off! at this price, i may as well just give it you! just say "chris, give me the xbox, i love the xbox", i know you love the xbox, and i'm going hungry tonight, really, i am, you can't get better prices than this, if god himself decended to earth and said "chris, give this man a better price", i could not do it.

I just got a "she-never-played-with-it" as-new xbox with DVD remote for free off Freecycle Now that's a bargain!

I only want it for XBMC.. just need to hunt for a game to softmod it now. And a memory cart - It's a 1.6 box and I gather they won't take any old USB drive like eearlier ones would.

I've thought about it for ages. But I've already got a "Medi@TV" box, which played most files. Trouble is the higher res files are unsupported, and I'm seeing more of them now with a new big telly, and it relies on my PC being on to transcode the files, even though they are held on a separate NAS box. I hope this should solve (most of) those issues.

well i stream nearly all of my media.
even stuff ive got on disc its just easier to use shares from the pc to xbmc
eg much easier to watch the likes of season 10 of stargate(as im doing now) from xvid on the pc than dig out my region 1 dvd boxset

I totally agree and I already do!

Mine kept freezing up the other day and I nearly had a panic attack as I thought I had broken it :eek: ...fortunately it seems it was just XBMC that had got corrupted somehow...everythings fine now :cool:

Still struggling with this.

Tried to use the instructions above. But when I unzip the SID5 launcher and Splinter Cell bits - I end up with a file called UDATA

On opening UDATA there doesnt seem to be any game saves that I can transfer to the memory card.

I have downloaded 2 different Krazie softmods vrs 4.something and Vrs 5 - but they are both the same.

Help appreciated

I followed the instructions here and it worked like a charm. The messing about with the save files and Action replay was assisted by the instructions here.

I made an xbox memory card from a controller extension cable (£3.50 on ebay) a usb extension cable (came free with an mp3 player) a usb sd/mmc-only card reader (from a £1 shop) and a 64MB MMC card (cost a fortune when we bought it with a camera five years ago, but long superceeded..) and despite mine being a 1.6 box, which is supposed to be picky about cards, it worked. Oh, and £2.49 for Splinter Cell from Cash Generator.

I'm very impressed with xbmc after all this. It's a more powerful solution than the old media player I have, even if some of the add-on scripts seem to lock it up.

Thanks Martin for reminding me how cheap xboxes have become! Last time I looked into this, they were still a significant hunk of cash.

Don't unzip them.

just add "sid5.installer.zip" and "SID5.Loader.SplinterCell.PAL.zip" to your memory card

However I cant transfer over zipped files as I am using xploder lite which only recognises the game saves.

I will look at irrelevant's links tonight - cant acceess from work.
