Haven’t posted in a long while but i took two winter coats to the CS yesterday and picked up a paperback i’d been looking for - thrilled!
I’d been deliberating whether to take the coats as some shops will only take whats in season, but they were both unworn - one still had the tags on - and i really, really need the space. I’ve decided i’m not going to pick up ‘bargains’ in the sales for when i lose more weight and that should benefit my wallet and my sanity 😁
The book is by Elly Griffiths’ and the only one in a series that I hadn’t previously been able to find . Paperbacks are usually 4 for a £1 but l just took that as I already have a ‘table’ of books to read stacked beside my bed 😃9 -

Popped into the local charity shop for a nosey, and spotted this for £4.
Just what I need, right enough, three planks of wood with a painting depicting a pastime I've never been interested in... 🙄
It does look good though, hanging on my kitchen wall. 🤣

I'd love to see the china. Oxfam is pretty astute normally about their pricing given that they have their online shop as well. But to ship all that would cost a fortune which is likely part of the reason it's so cheap I would guess. Not had any success researching the pattern apart from one EBay seller currently selling 2 x 28 piece dinner sets, (@£75 each) and a tiny trinket bowl, (£5). The seller says that they didn't have any luck tracing the pattern either. If the EBay seller, (a dealer), is spot on with their pricing it sounds as if Oxfam may have overpriced? Anyhoo, here are some pics I took in the shop this afty......

As a pattern spotter, I am at risk of falling into a Pinterest rabbithole. As you do. However, I back Oxfam not to overprice without reason, whereas a dealer may sling something onto ebay to get rid.
Mind, today, I am biased towards Oxfam as I discovered my parents bought mum's wedding ring in an Oxfam shop & bought it, & were Made Much Of by the assistant, who happily announced it to everyone present.. I can rather see my young father turning a beautiful shade of pink but, as a good Scot, being happy to buy the right thing for the right price & not have to venture into the sporran-gougers of Oxford jewellery shops.7 -

It's lovely!!! I'd be tempted. And I wouldn't take the OH in there as he'd be more than tempted (and no we do not need yet another set of china!!!)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Ooh I like that surfing one too, and I'm not a surfer either. Very pleasing colours
We are sans trompe l'oeil here, himself doesn't like pictures in general. Then one day in the saleroom I bought a deep red-framed parapluie revel (lovely colours) and he thinks that's absolutely marvelousGo figure!
