yes I'm intrigued by what one might do with mayo. Polish furniture perhaps?Rosa_Damascena said:@dND - the book looks very MSE. Share any tips on the OS board please? There is a thread on tricks active.
I do know some of the other things but am mostly enjoying the effect of sprinkling salt on a watercolour when you're painting. Makes it lovely and blotchy!

I have my parents' Thomas silver banded porcelain tea service - originally bought as a silver wedding anniversary gift from me & my siblings in 1979 and added to over the years. I think they bought some of the platinum cups etc when they couldn't find the silver ones.dND said:
...the Thomas Germany teapot, creamer and sugar bowl were £2 at my local YMCA shop. I'm really pleased with the teapot as my best dinner service is the Thomas with the thin platinum band. 😁2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Well I must admit I'm impressed when one of my paintings even vaguely looks like what I intend....Rosa_Damascena said:

Most of the tips so far, and I'm still on A, are nothing new: Things like lining a oven or grill tray with aluminium foil that can then be thrown away - it's an old book so not necessarily very eco/recycle friendlyBrie said:

I've hesitated saying this in case I've remembered it wrong but - I thought they'd re-evaluated the wisdom of what you should put on a burn? They used to say butter so it'd form a fatty layer to keep the air out and keep it clean, but I thought the wisdom had changed on that...? Aren't we meant to run it under cold water to get the heat out of it now?Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.6
