I must have natural immunity to the scarf bug as I rejected a huuuuge 'Gucci' lookee likee scarf yesterday, (£2.99 in Sue Ryder) and a purple.'pashmina' (99p today in St Gemma's). Also had a squiz in the big new Barnardo's in Otley. Not impressed, prices were reasonable but the quality of the donated goods was very poor, (bobbles, moth holes, deodorant stains and.....gulp...one woman found a snotty tissue in a coat pocket...ick!!7

What I did get were a couple of books, a chenille winter hat / scarf / glove kit, light necklace, a brooch and an Oliver Bonas mug:
Also some charity lapel pins, BHF's this year is particularly nice:
Eta: I realise now I did buy a scarf after all! But this is functional rather than dressy.

Re: scarf bug, for a time, while suffering from stress, I started developing aloepecia areata ie random bald spots. I went mad for scarves, beanies and more. My hair did start regrowing so I gave most of them to a charity shop. Kept my Easily Distracted By Cows beanie and a couple of shemaghs.8 -

Ooh very nice haul @Rosa_Damascena, I particularly love the sparkly bow brooch - I do so love a brooch.
Well I faced my CS trouser buying ick today. The black M&S trousers were still in the hospice shop but now reduced from £5.99 to £3.75 so I thought I'd give them a go. Having just tried them on (perfect fit) I can honestly say they are the nicest trousers I now own. Pulled off the paper tag and popped into the wash bin, but thought I'd better check the zipped up pockets first. Yup - a (used once) tissue - the horror!!!! Glad I checked!Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 17/25 Currently reading The Ghost Fields by Elly Griffiths8 -

I am after another microwaveable saucepan, am bound to find one in a chazzer soon enough. I had a wander round Poundstretcher earlier, they are £3.50 each! I'm sure I bought my 2-pack in the 99p store back in the day. Everything has become so expensive, it is ridiculous. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
