I just wash CS stuff as normal. Maybe I just assume everyone is like me and washes stuff before they donate. I have found the occasional tissue which is a bit icky but given the volume of stuff I buy is an occupational hazard.
Re furniture woodworm is visible to the naked eye so @DFV I would inspect closely. Not sure about bedbugs though (shudder).Yesterday I bought this Topshop light blue denim play suit for next summer. £4 so rude not to I felt. Possibly a bit mutton, but I think older people now wear much younger stuff than older people did when I was young. I have taken a photo of it on and am going to work on toning my legs for next summer. I’ll spare you all the picture of my legs but am hoping I’ll be inspired by before and after.9 -
I really like that playsuit, @Potternerd, especially those huge pockets!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I ended up going into the St Vincent's shop again today, after saying I was boycotting it as the staff member last time was rude! I always seem to be walking in that area as it is right next to a Tesco Express and a cash point. The woman working there today was friendly and very nice.
I wanted some roll neck tops and sweatshirts and I found them. A black hooded jumper, a grey Laura Ashley roll neck and three oversized sweatshirts. £20 and I got a rose scented bath bomb and a tube of cherry blossom hand cream for £2.6 -
Another gallop around the market square in Thirsk today and came away with a bnwt M & S skirt for £6! RRP £39, and a Linea black wool skirt with a heavily embroidered hem, as new, for £10.

Re: bedbugs, they have supposedly arrived in London via Eurostar, so I bought a can of stuff to kill bedbugs from Amazon, before it's all gone. Husband does sometimes travel on trains and tubes so he could feasibly pick up some trendy hitch-hikers from this galaxy. Ugh.

Seriously, they are pretty much endemic. The good thing is a heightened awareness; what is less good is that people can't afford to call out pest control. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.9 -

I'm another one that donates stuff in the state I'd want to buy it in. I hadn't considered bedbugs or woodworm or whatever this week's trendy beastie is
Any items I buy get tried on in the shop if poss, then I try them on again when I get home just to make sure, then it's tags off and into a normal 40' wash. No critters in this house. Actually that's not true - I've got compost gnats from somewhere - but I doubt they came in on any cs stuff ha haa!
I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.10
