Shop Charity in '23!

@beanielou - I like the small charity shops better too, it's the hunting for treasure aspect I think.
@Potternerd - well done for getting back on your "bike" and I like the dress too.
I had planned to spend this afternoon cycling to Kidlington to investigate the charity shops there but the rain started just as I was clearing away my lunch and it just got worse from there. I ended up doing the washing up early and then starting on tidying my bedroom, very dull by comparison, hopefully I'll be able to go tomorrow morning instead.
I meant to say that I spotted a couple of these Always pans in the display cases at the BHF shop yesterday which did make me chuckle, I had wondered how long it would be before they'd start being donated and it's only been about two years I think. The shop has a dark green casserole which they've priced at £45 as opposed to a new one which would be £140, there was also a frying pan with a lid but I couldn't see the price label but a new one would be £130 so I think whoever donated them has been very generous. Has anyone else seen any of the range being donated yet?7 -
None around my stomping ground @goldfinches but if anyone sees any white porcelain coupe plates in the Always range, let me know!
I snagged 2 striped Autograph cashmere cardigans yesterday, one pale grey with navy & green stripes and the other oatmeal with yellow & purple stripes. They weren't cheap at £12.99 each but each still had the original £99 tags 😊2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@Potternerd, that's a very nice dress, good job I wasn't there just ahead of you!
I have a pink Joules hoody on that I like very much (50p car boot bargain!) but which is looking a bit over-washed so your dress inspired me to have a quick look on 3bay for similar, which I didn't find. However, there was a Joules sweatshirt that absolutely wasn't on my needs list (very little is), but I've 'watched' it. I might just try to blame you if I get it.It looks in good condition, is a nice cheerful colour and should be warm for winter.

Ooh bl00dy hell, so I am!
I'd not have seen that @Cherryfudge, ta muchly
Maybe I ought to have a squizz round the cs's, see if I find anything good to keep the ball rolling... I've been really good this year, I've hardly even been in looking cos I truly don't need anything, but maybe this is a sign...I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.7 -
I was on the hunt for some autumn jumpers and found a few in just one shop this morning. Sharing Space in Westcliff-on-Sea.
I had been looking at my washing line this morning through my kitchen window and every item of clothing on it was black. I found some more colourful options.🤩
The grey tunic on the left I will use as a night shirt.

Last car boot of the year up at Bedale (this is just part of the field but those trees, with just the tiniest hint of autumnal orange and a lovely blue Yorkshire sky, are beautiful).
And there’s my haul: the fleece has a mark on the front which should be easy to cover, and it’s Next, for 50p.
The blocks and car for DGD were £3.
The recycled glass bottle was £1, as was the old fashioned tablespoon (nice and deep and came up well when polished) and the stone hot water bottle (which will cost more when the seal is replaced as per guidance on the winter prep thread).
The small Pyrex and tiny glass covered bowl were 50p the two.
Lovely end to the season, even if I had to get my winter coat on to enjoy it!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

sadly the Shrewsbury charity shops were not cooperating with me. no scarves of any interest, nor art books and no vinyl for the OH. he did have more luck at a couple of the second hand vinyl shops so he's ok. And I discovered a craft market on my way to my conference this morning....absolutely lovely and no time to look. I asked one lady who had some lovely slumped glass items how late she would be there and she said 5. Conference finished just before 4 so I could take my time climbing back up to high ground (puff!) and was surprised that she recognised me having returned. (bright orange hoodie helped perhaps!!) I am now the proud owner of a coaster with Shropshire trees and dancing hares and a matching slumped glass trinket dish with more trees and a deer. Plus a mug with a hare sketched on. Shoulda been £30 for the 3 but she gave me the coaster for free as a rainy day discount. i think she was just pleased that I thought her stuff nice enough to come back. I did ask if she thought I should save everything for OH's birthday (2 weeks) or for mine (6 weeks) and she said they should all be for me. I liked her a lot!!!! @Floss - well done for spotting the cashmere cardigans and I think you got a bargain on the price.
@Cherryfudge - it seems to be a Joules week for me too as I've bought one of their jackets today. Your car boot photo looks lovely, such blue sky. I have one of those hotties and it's perfect to rest my feet against in bed on a cold night.
@YoungBlueEyes - congratulations on your stardom and yes it's a sign that you should take a day trip to Eastbourne (reason in this article).
@Wednesday2000 - that's a lovely selection of styles and colours, I especially like the cardigan on the top right of your photo.
@Brie - your purchases sound delightful, any chance of a photo for the rest of us to admire/envy?
I wasn't brave enough to cycle as far as Kidlington today after all because the sky here was full of bands of dark grey clouds so I decided to only go as far as Summertown but still did quite well in the four shops there. In the Scope shop I bought a packet of carabiners, £2, which I wanted for my bike keys because the metal ring that came with them is very flimsy. I also bought a very pretty blouse with tulips and narcissi against a background of blue and white stripes for £5.50. Then in the hospice shop I bought a copy of Meera Sodha's East, £3, and Jess Philip's The Life of an MP, £1.50. I didn't find anything I wanted in the Oxfam shop but struck lucky in the Animal Sanctuary shop around the corner. I snapped up a navy waterproof Joules jacket in very nice condition for £8, some metal pastry cutters for £4 and a Persephone novel that I've never read by Gladys Huntington for £2.50.
