@Miró, sorry to hear you got delayed.
I've added Anna on Insta too. There's something about the concept of 'enough', and treasure what you have...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

By the ways thanks for the nice comments on my photos. The mark on the fleece doesn't seem to be a stain, it feels more as though the material has been against heat that's fused some fibres. I have an idea how to deal with it which shouldn't be too hard as the damage is only skin deep. I'll send a photo if I can make it work!
A similarly "thrifty" piece I found linked to this was an article from The Telegraph. Some people have money to burn! How to master shopping second-hand

That is an interesting article. I think for me charity shopping is just the normal. My mum and Gran always did it, and I left home very young because I couldn't stand living with my abusive father. So DH and I moved in together, and we have always been very poor. We've never had a lot of disposable income, almost none of our furniture is new, we've never bought a brand new car or sofa. We will never be able to own a home. Frugality isn't an eco lifestye for us, it's simply survival.Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Goodness me, ideas of second hand spending do vary, don't they! I think the most I've spent 2nd hand was about £40 for a Coast dress, and I've got some nice items for 50p at car boots...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I enjoyed reading the article but at the same time was saddened that she couldn't trade up, being on a teacher's salary. Her sleeping arrangements, for example, are far from ideal.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@YoungBlueEyes - it really has been Joules jacket week everywhere, I think I'm going to get a little badge that says "twinned with YBE" to pin on my flowery sweatshirt. I think your coat is very smart too.
@Cherryfudge - very interesting article and I thought the sentiments at the end were spot on, thanks for that.
@Miró - welcome back home, I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip and your thoughts on Italian style. Many years ago I worked in a shop in Bath which sold men's shirts among other things, British men would usually consent to be measured before choosing a new shirt or two but would never try one on before purchasing it. Then one day a visiting Italian came in to look at the linen shirts and tried on not only a range of sizes but every colour too before making his selection. We were all intrigued by this difference in behaviour and when he returned the following day to try on more shirts and purchase several we were very excited and imagined that this would give us a whole new clientele but sadly this never came to pass.
@Wednesday2000 - I'm not sure about having a builder for a boyfriend but I wouldn't kick a good cleaner out of bed!
@Rosa_Damascena - interesting article, I'm now wondering whether selling one or two things on the sites it mentions would be worthwhile. I might as well take advantage of the inflated prices people shopping on them seem to expect to pay. The other day I decided not to buy a Ralph Lauren skirt because I couldn't think of anywhere I'd wear it, ho hum off to do some research.
I popped into my favourite BHF shop yesterday and spotted Claudia Roden's Book of Jewish Food so snapped it up for £3.50.
