Shop Charity in '23!

That was a good link @goldfinches. Imagine all those charity shops, I'd not have a penny left if I lived down there
Well I went round a few of my fave cs's, and I did find some bargains. I'm almost sorry I did actually cos its made me wonder what I've missed!
A couple of Boden wool skirts and a Joules jacket. The jacket is a lovely soft jersey sort of a jobber. I've also bought a knee-length caramel coloured Zara coat for £15 but I'm sure I'm keeping it. It fits lovely and I like the collar but it's viscose and the label says you're not to get it wet never mind wash itPlus the pockets are only shallow. But here's the keepers -
I also lifted this thing. It's a hardwood of some variety - it must weigh north of 1lb - and it's very ...touchable...? It's warm and smooth and lovely to turn in your hands. And it was only £2I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.9 -
A good day's hunting, @YoungBlueEyes! I especially like your jacket and piece of sculpture.
Very odd to make a garment that can't get wet...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Another article on what can be achieved with second hand, though this lady didn't restrict herself to charity shops, she refurbed a flat!

By the ways thanks for the nice comments on my photos. The mark on the fleece doesn't seem to be a stain, it feels more as though the material has been against heat that's fused some fibres. I have an idea how to deal with it which shouldn't be too hard as the damage is only skin deep. I'll send a photo if I can make it work!

Here's the coat, and a close up of the label. Confession time - seems I've made up the 'don't get it wet' thing
I was reading a few websites about how to clean viscose and I wonder if I saw it on one of them.... Stoopid brain

Cherryfudge said:Last car boot of the year up at Bedale (this is just part of the field but those trees, with just the tiniest hint of autumnal orange and a lovely blue Yorkshire sky, are beautiful).
And there’s my haul: the fleece has a mark on the front which should be easy to cover, and it’s Next, for 50p.
The blocks and car for DGD were £3.
The recycled glass bottle was £1, as was the old fashioned tablespoon (nice and deep and came up well when polished) and the stone hot water bottle (which will cost more when the seal is replaced as per guidance on the winter prep thread).
The small Pyrex and tiny glass covered bowl were 50p the two.
Lovely end to the season, even if I had to get my winter coat on to enjoy it!7 -
