Cherryfudge said:Rosa_Damascena said:That goes some way to explaining my 3 cherry pitters
I own two cherry pitters/olive stoners myself, because I found them both in one of those odds and ends kitchen kit baskets at a chazza and wasn't sure which one would work well with my hands so bought both but haven't tested them properly yet.9 -
If it puts anybody's mind at rest I personally have 2 oyster knives. One pig ugly but practical so I like and use it and the other pretty waste of space but is part of a shellfish cutlery set so I don't feel like I can throw is away (in any sense).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Miró said:Yay…back on the merry-go-round of chazza shopping!
From Otley, got a pair of Hotter loafers in tan from the BHF shop, b/n £15, (rrp £75) and super comfy. Also picked up 2 b/n M & S white t-shirts, one fitted & one straight for 99p each from the St Gemma’s 99p shop.8 -
I had a look around the shops in Southend yesterday as I had an appointment and I was early. I am not sure exactly how much I spent on each purchase but I found a Zara black winter hat, a Mela London red dress, a black lacy skirt and some ladies hiking socks. I bought hiking socks at that same charity shop last year and they are really warm in cold weather so I bought myself another pair. It was less than £20 for everything. I'm going again today so I might look around again. I do like the Salvation Army shop.2025 GOALS

@Brie - how often do you get the shuck oysters?
@Wednesday2000 - the SA shop you refer to is priced a little high. The old one round the corner is still open I believe, so worth a browse. I've found plenty of interesting books and bric-a-brac there before.
Chaz advice c/o The Sun: https://apple.news/AcQEw6kswSumvtvqipejKew . Which is fine, albeit a little dull and unimaginative. I dressed like Diana back in the 90s, Kate picking up on this theme doesn't encourage me to go back to it. I prefer mixing it up a bit now and my penchant for mixing patterns has developed with middle age. It was a big fashion "no" from me before!

And it's likely to be rarer in the future as I've been told that one of my minor medical issues means that raw oysters (and other raw shellfish) should be avoided. Can't remember right now which issue it was.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Brie - there are lots of delicious recipes for baked oysters with butter, garlic, cream etc. most of them remind me very much of the snail ones which always smell mouthwatering even though I'm a vegetarian.
I planned a long cycle ride to visit a series of charity shops this afternoon but the first one on the list, Helen House Hospice in Rose Hill, was so marvellous that I didn't get any further. It was full of other customers too, I spent nearly two hours there and £51.10 but it was definitely worth it.
Here are the non-clothes items I bought.
The vegetable and herb expert, £1.50, as I'm hoping to get an allotment so thought that it would be useful if that really happens. A Kilner fermentation jar with the ceramic weights as well as the airlock top, £2.50, a Lakeland non-stick pudding steamer and lid, £3, and four non-stick tart tins with removable bottoms, £1.50.
Then I spotted another of the Lost Words series jigsaws so snapped it up. I wish there was a jigsaw of the goldfinches from the cover of the book but looking online there only seem to be these kingfishers, the magpies I bought recently and one of a pair of otters so I'll keep an eye out for that. I also chose this jigsaw of a watercolour from the lake district and these jellyfish which I thought very appealing, all three were £2.50 each.
Then I bought rather a lot of clothes which I'm going to try and photograph in daylight tomorrow because several of them are very dark navy which doesn't show up well in artificial light.

I bought some nice brand new burgundy boots and a dark red handbag yesterday from the SA shop. It is more expensive there, but they have a lot of stock. The heels are a bit high for me, but I will try and wear them!2025 GOALS

@Wednesday2000 - enjoy the view from your new high heels and please snap a photo of your glamorous new bag for the rest of us to admire.
I nearly bought a Radley bag in the hospice shop yesterday afternoon but I just couldn't see myself using it more than occasionally so left it for someone else to enjoy.
Here are the photos of the clothes I bought yesterday although the colours haven't come out very well on my screen. Hopefully they're better on your tech set-up.
From left to right a Maine red, navy and white skirt, £5, a pair of M&S magic jeans in very dark indigo, £2.50, an H&M Morris & Co navy and cream t-shirt, £3.50, and an M&S top in pale lilac blue and white.
From left to right a White Stuff teal, blue and white short sleeved dress with pockets and a tie belt, £4, an H&M washable navy pea coat, £6, and a Joules navy gilet, £12.
Sorry the colours don't show very well, I just couldn't get the light to co-operate with my phone today. The skirt, dress and tops are all intended for next summer while the gilet and pea coat are for wearing under my fluorescent cycling top. The pea coat has a funnel neck with poppers which does up nice and snugly which I hope will stop the cold gap around my neck when I'm whizzing along."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
