This might be all the brightness we get today so here are some pics. The backs are the same.Next week I’ll pop into the shop that’s on the sticker on the back, but they might say “dunno, we just restrung them”. Which is why I’m asking hereI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.7

Popped into the local Havens outlet store which is always good value at £3 per piece, and came out with a Roman dress. Figure hugging and fits like a dream - the advantage of buying a size too large - and although I can't find it on the website similar retail at about £50. Its also on Fleabay for between £14-60!
Also a smart black M&S Collection blouse - was dithering over this as it is very similar in shape to my Oliver Bonas blouse (below) but needn't have worried as my sister relieved me of it as soon as I got back!
And finally, whilst waiting in the queue spotted a Morphy Richards heated overblanket, double bed size. For £12 I couldn't resist! It went on a wool wash earlier and its now drying outside in the sunshine. This winter is going to be a warm one without troubling my energy bill (much). No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Hi Sorry to be bearer of bad news but the E H Shepherd Winnie the Pooh sketches have been widely reproduced and sold and I have seen these copies many times in various charity shops. If you try google lens then this should prove the point. There is just a very small chance that yours are the real thing. Generally with these reproductions if you take a strong magnifier to then you will eventually see the microscopic dots of the printing process so it may help to try this.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. ...and the above is from my DH at my request.
He advises a charity shop on the art they have donated to them, as he's had quite lot of experience buying and selling paintings.
Taking them down to the sale room is a good idea if they may be genuine.
That said, for all the art that's passed through DH's hands, there have been occasional 'real things' - they do happen! Whichever yours are, EH Shepard's drawings are lovely and IMO, worth having to enjoy (and if they're genuine, to insure!)I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I'm heartened to hear of OSers with useful men around the house
.
I dropped into a chazzer next to a supermarket this afternoon not expecting much but I happened to find 2 pairs of curtains that match my requirements for an unfurnished room exactly. More than I had hoped to spend at £20, but the measurements were uncanny. Not one to laugh in the face of providence, I paid up.
And 2 excellent books for £2, I know I'm not going to come across these again in a hurry!

@YoungBlueEyes - I was going to say almost exactly what @Cherryfudge's OH said with the note that those two scenes are among the most widely reproduced. Those are attractive frames so I wonder if you have some kind of known edition there, a sale room might give you a nice surprise.
@Rosa_Damascena - congratters for the heated blanket and the curtains and do take a photo for us all to admire when you've hung them. Very interesting looking books, have you started the cat book yet?
I spent yesterday afternoon cycling around enjoying the lovely sunshine and visiting various charity shops. I finally managed to get to the Barnardo's while it was open, the book I'd seen in the window had gone of course but I did find two Posy Simmonds and this very pretty Joules top, £7.50, which has pockets and a drawstring. Then I went across the road to the Oxfam shop and found this book about career women in the fifties, £3.99 as well as a Virago book about women travellers, £3.99.
Then I called in to the Mind shop and snapped up these baking tin liners for £1 each.

Ah bu99er. Ah well, you learn something new every day. I've not seen them before so I had no idea they were widely reproduced. Saved me humping them into town though cos they're not light. They're still going up in my hall (after I've had a good close look in case they need to go on the insurance
) cos I think they're beautifully gentle images. Thanks folks
The Joules top is a winner goldfinches, I have that one and it sits lovely on you and washes and dries well. I'm looking at everyone's books with envy too...

@YoungBlueEyes - I had a look at EH Shepard's wikipedia page and think the poem AA Milne wrote is very beautiful. I have some books by Denis Mackail which have dust jackets illustrated by him that I really like too and here's a modern reprint showing one of the original jackets. I shall keep looking out for people wearing the Joules top just in case it's you.

That dust jacket is beautiful goldfinches, same sort of feeling as my pics - soft and ....homely....? Tbh I want that book now too, having read the write-up
I had some good hard looks at my pics yesterday. Sometimes in some places I think I can see dots and other times not. I'll nip them in to town and have a proper person cast their aye over them. I'll report back.
I've got that top in 2 colours, the other one is blue multi tone flowers. Far too warm to be wearing them just yet mind. But when I do I'll make sure to smile at anyone scrutinising meI'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.6 -
