    Good morning everyone!
The plan was that I won't be overpaying until the end of June when my overpayment allowance renews but  Natwest took out this morning extra £999. I cancelled overpayments on the 23rd of December but it looks like the bank didn't process it in time. Ah well, this money was earmarked for overpayments anyway so I guess I'll have to pay £9 fee and just live with it.

    #56 reporting £999 for January
@julicorn I noticed on spreadsheet that number 42 is still free. Would it be possible to move me up and I would have the same number for this challenge and for MFi3 challenge please 🙏
We took £83795 mortgage in June 2018
Left to pay on mortgage: £51821.20
    Original end date: June 2037

    HNY all.
My first year here, not really sure how it works.
We do a full 10% as soon as feasible to the Annual mortgage anniversary, which oddly is June (though we bought the house in March ) We have this saved waiting to go.

We've never changed what we originally paid at the start of the mortgage ... £702.65, even though we've paid off about £24k in OP's.

What we should be paying now for the mortgage is £569.79 .... however we continue paying £702.65 thereby making an additional OP each month of £132.86 so I guess that's what I say I've OP'd.
I've also calculated my daily interest - £4.57 which is about £141 in a 31 day month... so the monthly OP pretty much wipes out the interest .... so every month, from the normal mortgage payment of £570, about £560 of it actually comes off what we owe.

When you look at buying vs renting ... it really is a no brainer. To rent our house we'd be paying £1000 a month I'm sure.
In reality all the house actually costs us each month is the £140 interest ! The rest is going straight into our own pocket. That's without factoring in the rise in value of the house. Truly a win - win .

So at the end of all this waffle ...
