  • Spreadsheet updated. Some good savings going on this week. I am itching to colour more of my chart in but resisting until nearer the end of the month when I know how much spare money I have.

Good morning savers. I have just paid in £5 to cover Januarys payments to my 1p starling savings space. Now up to £57 and I can colour in Januarys boxes on the chart 😁

    Have a great day.

Thank you for your work enthusiastic saver.

For this challenge I have a pot I am throwing coins into (and recording here), but this week I also go back to doing surveys, and that gets paid into PayPal. Yesterday I was paid £5.82, so I'm keeping that in my account, and crossing £3.62 and £2.20 off my chart. I am trying to save as many of the bigger payments now, so it is easier at Christmas.

  • Hi All

Saver number 25 , I am saving random amounts each day, depending on what cash I have in my purse and crossing off the relevant amount on my chart.  Trying to get some of the bigger amounts cleared earlier on.  I had a quick tally up at the weekend and I have over £120 saved already (I start 1st November to be able to complete in plenty of time for Christmas).

I love this challenge as you can really play around with it to make it work for your personal financial situation.

Thank you @enthusiasticsaver for watching over us and running this challenge.

Good plan.  Are you wanting me to  record the amounts on the spreadsheet?  Ideally if so can you embolden the amount for month/week or whatever and quote your reference number to save me searching each time?

If you are recording just for your own benefit that is fine.

I am using round ups from my day to banking account to save for this challenge. Given that I am trying to cut down my day to day spending I may need to rethink my strategy for this challenge

Thank you enthusiasticsaver. I will just chat along to myself during the month, and give you my final tally at the end of each month with my number.
    Thank you.

I have to say I am amazed by all the different perambulations of the challenge - wouldn't it be simpler to stick to the original challenge & do an extra personal savings challenge on the side?  Just joking - each to their own! :D
